Locking out overdrive?

Do you lock out overdrive whenever you tow a trailer even if it's just a light trailer.

When I haul my boat it doesn't pull to hard and the tranny doesn't shift back and forth from OD. Do I still need to lock it out?

In your case I would say no if it's not shifting. When I pull a 20ft. enclosed car hauler I turn it off the whole time. All it does is lock/unlock the torque converter the whole time otherwise.
