Headlight and foglight painting (Pictures!)

I am painting my headlights and fogs this coming weekend. I have one question however. When painting my fogs, I am going to tape off the concave reflective area and just paint the top and bottom sections of the fogs. Has anyone done this yet? I am pretty sure the reflectivity and light output would be fairly comparable to stock, since I am leaving the whole concave reflector area chrome. Do you all agree that the light output will still be pretty good? I do not want to jeopardize too much reflectivity from my fogs.

I took this picture from k1ngoftheranch, I hope he doesn't mind.

I will be painting them all black except for the area in the center inside of the red square. This area will remain the reflective chrome.

mask it off with a wax, or something like chapstick

thats what they tell you to use in the instructions for the painted ford emblems

Opened up the heads and fogs tonight. Painted the fogs and tinted the orange lens for the heads. I will paint the heads after work tomorrow. Hopefully reassembly will be Saturday afternoon if I am not too busy. Pics will be up soon. My only concern right now is that I am nervous about the masking tape pulling off the chrome on the fogs. Hopefully it wont, if it does, I will have to explore other options.

^Search, there are threads everywhere about the process.

Yes, you bake them to soften the silicone.

Pictures will be up soon guys! Sorry for the delay.

Everything is done and I am just waiting on the silicone to dry before reinstallation.

I ended up painting the turn signal area too, which I think looks great! The only chrome area on the headlights now is the headlight area.
