Painting Interior Plastic

how well do you guys think the paint would hold up if i rattle canned the interior plastic peices

i jus got everything in the middle that was black painted gloss black its gona be work keeping clean i can already tell heres a few snap shots

If you prep it right and use a good paint (I'd suggest Krylon Fusion [especially formulated for plastics]) it should hold up well for years to come.

doesnt that all have a clear coat on it. i was gonna paint the all the grey plastic black but without a clear.

tardman how would you prep it because its textured plastic and i cant sand it

Another vote for krylon fusion. Just make sure you get a few coats on there and give it plenty of time to dry. I found the best results with krylon came with many light coats.

since i cant sand the peices beforehand i was thinking of just applying an adhesion promoter first then painting

I would do that and use a light sand... not to make it smooth but just enough to remove all the amorall.

thats a good idea. im probably gonna test it on a small peice first just to see how well it will hold up

That what i did to the center peice of my Expy console, i didnt want it smooth but still wanted it black and kinda shiney, i used krylon spray paint and clear make sure you let the claer dry atleast overnight. It seems to take longer to dry then paint.

do several layers of primer to build up the lower spots of the texture, then sand it smooth, then paint, and clear.

i painted my door panels and i first cleaned everything with dishwash liquid since it cuts grease and after it was totally dy i used adhesion promoter.and right after spraying adheion promoter spray the color.check my gallery for the door panels.
