The painted pieces do look good, but watch what you paint. Anything you touch alot gets scratched fast. I just have the factory stuff that is piano black on a Harley truck and my center console is already all scratched. It waxes out easy enough, but its a real pain to keep nice.

This is a good point. i painted several pieces in my other truck. the dash pieces are holding up pretty well, but the armrest and cup holder pieces are all scratched up and look like crap. its a work truck so i dont really care but its a good warning for those who want to paint...

just out of curiosity, if i wanted to paint the flint areas on the dash of my FX4 piano black like the harleys, i'd have to remove the whole dash, right?

all the black panels in your dash can come out easy. if that silver is the flint color, you're gonna have to leave them in. strip out everyting you can out of the cab, tape it all off and go ahead and paint.
