So check this crap out

I was watching the local news tonight when they showed a story about a local construction company that had been broken into 4 times in the last month. They were talking about how each time the theives had stolen a flatbed truck to haul away everything they decided to steal. Then they ran a video from 06 April saying how flatbed trucks and construction items weren't the only thing these theives liked to steal. The video showed a flatbed with 4 wheels and tires on the back of it.......MY WHEELS AND TIRES. Turns out the story was about the construction company that has an office right above the autobody shop doing my repairs. They store their flatbed trucks in the same lot as the autobody shop. There it was on camera and on the news, video of the theives making off with my wheels and tires. The autobody shop never said anything to me about how they captured the guys on video.

Then to make matters worse I stopped by the shop on Friday to inquire about progress with the insurance company (since they don't like returning my phone calls). Come to find out the the theives not only helped themselves ot my wheels and tires, but they also broke my ignition which means the shop has to replace that and my keys and then have the alarm/autostart bypass reprogrammed for the new keys. I don't think the insurance company likes me because they said they had to investigate the theft before they could tell me how much they would give me. I told the guy her's how simple the invesitgation should be. When I dropped it off on 4 March it had wheels and tires, now it doesn't, investigation complete.

I actually knew the wheels & tires had been stolen, happened over 2 weeks ago, just had never seen the video before. The shop's insurance called me today to tell me they were denying the calim because their investigation concluded the shop to every precaution to ensure the safety of my truck. I asked how leaving the truck unlocked, with the key in the ignition and the wheel lug key in the glovebox was taking every precaution to ensure the safety of my truck. Then I went to the auto repair shop and they said the insurance company said it was still under investigation. Maybe my little tidbit of information made them rethink things.

Anyways, the repair shop gave me the green light to go ahead and order new wheels & tires and have the quote faxed over to them so they could take care of everything. I'm giving serious consideration to adding a 2" leveling kit and an AAL to the truck and going with 37x12.50 on 18x9 KMC Revolvers. Will these fit a 2WD with a 2" leveling kit stacked on top of a 6" Fabtech suspension lift or should I go with 36x12.50's?

It's funny how very little logic comes into play in these "investigations". That's red tape for you...
