so can someone please tell me, with as little bias as possible, which one will truely out preform the other.

my dad has a 2005 chevy 2500, and i hate it. great motors, sh*t interior, my truck has extremely lound exhaust my dads chevy has stock exhaust and his truck is still louder in the cab!!! its hard to hold a conversation because of the road noise.
although i just rode in a brand new 1500 with a 5.3L the cab was much nicer but it was much slower then i thought it would have been. hahaha
and last but not least, the people where i live who drive chevys are one of two things which i dont want to look like.
which is why i would rather drive a ford.

We have roughly a 50/50 split of Chevy and Ford trucks at work. Everyone fights to ride in the Fords. Not only is the ride better, but the Fords tend not to break down anywhere near as often. You want to get home on time? Ride in one of the Fords.
Yah, Ford was the cheapest... City's buy work vehicles based on price point, whoever is cheapest when there looking is who they buy from weather it be Ford, Chevy, Dodge ect...
Ford looks better *opinion*
Ford builds a stronger/sturdier truck *fact*
Ford builds a safer truck *fact*
Ford has more bottom end torque *fact*
Ford has better interior and sound system *opinion/fact*
Ford has better brakes *fact*
Ford has more options, accesories, packages *fact*
The choice was obvious

I agree. We have a 5.7 98 chevy on the ranch and we beat the snot out of it for work and hunting, and my god that engine is still going strong after 150k hard hard miles.
Plus something about them makes them sound so sweet compared to other modern V8s, i cant really explain it.

Had a 5.7L engine in my 98' Silverado, loved that truck, best (and first) truck I've owned so far. My 03' Chevy 5.3L was a decent truck, but had enough problems I said goodbye to gm for awhile. I may go back, but so far I've been more than thrilled with F-150. ( I also drove a tundra, Titan, and dare I say it, Dodge) The F-150 is the best 1/2 ton on the market for all around use, thats the reason I went with it.
Ford, there is no substitute. My dad's a GM truck guy. He thinks Chevy's are crap so he has to drive the GM version.
Between business and personal I have had at least 20 Ford cars and trucks. I average about 200k miles and I am definitely not strong on maintenance. We recently sold our 2000 Taurus (160k miles and running strong- all of our vehicles were getting old so I wanted to start replacine one at a time.) and bought an Edge. She loves it. I was driving a 1999 Explorer with 235k miles and had a fairly minor mechanical problem (I can't work on vehicles) and I didn't want to drop $1k so I sold it for $2000 (disclosed the problem.) I;m trying to sell my old work truck (2001 F250 with 189k miles) currently because I just bought my used 2004 F150 SCREW on e-bay with low miles. I figure I should get 4 or 5 years out of it. Love the Ford's.

This question is just about as endless as "What came first, the chicken or the egg?"
Soooo many opinions, I'll give mine to add to the drama.
My first truck was an 1988 Silverado 4x4 with the 5.7. When I got the truck it had 110,000 miles on it and had been through just about any abuse you can think of. My grandfather owned it before me, he is a rice farmer so most of those 110,000 miles were very hard and heated down here in southern Texas. That truck still ran great the day I sold it, I put another 35,ooo or so miles on it, I saw it on the road about a year ago still going strong.......
My point is after that I had a 92 chevy V-6, a 2000 Dodge (yeah, I know) a 2001 Chevy, a 2003 Chevy, a 2004 Chevy. All trucks after the 88 had problems and issues that had me in shop constantly. The 1988 was the best chevy I owned before my 2007 F-150........
Hands down the 2007 F-150 is the best looking, better quality interior than any of the other trucks I've owned......engine still needs some HP, but working on that currently. I will definately buy another Ford for my next truck. I am very happy with it and won't go back to chevy.
Just my .02
