I posted before about my 08 FX4 w/ 3:55's and 20's always downshifting. Today I was in for my first oil change and asked if the dealership could look into it. I also mentioned that sometimes there is a delay in the downshift. When the dealer called me back they gave me a copy of a OASIS Special Service Message. Message number # 20192. Basically it states that the truck may exhibit an RPM flare during the 3-4 upshift. DO NOT ATTEMPT REPAIRS AS ENGINEERING IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THIS CONCERN. The dealer said he thinks this is the same problem I am having. Does anyone have any insight into this or any idea how long I will wait before there is a fix ??

 

That message they quoted is for RPM flare on the 3-4 shift and under 30 MPH.
My 08 FX4 w/3:73 & 18's does this. The message is only from a couple of weeks ago.
Is that what yours is doing?

 

UPDATE :
I am getting the " Flare " in the RPM's between the upshifts. Does anyone know if this has been fixed ??

Also, do you think this is related to my constant downshifting issue ?
