Looks awsome man. I would personally never do it, but it does look good and can understand the ****ionality of it. You have the 4x4 when you want it, skid plates for protection, and are set out from the crowd. And its a good conversation starter.

I'm not gonna lie about it. I thought it was perfect before you raised the front to level it out. I still think it looks good, but here's the thing. Perfectly level looks like there is a load in the box. I like the natural look with the back end up, at least a little.

At least you were honest with your response. I get so tired of the stupid comments like "it's a 4x4, its supposed to go up, not down". I myself like the perfectly level look, I don't haul anything anyway, so I don't need the back up higher.

I was happy with the 2/3 setup, it was close enough to level for me, but the front end felt like it was bottoming out on large bumps. Now it feels much better at the 1/3 setup.

I think it looks awesome man. I can identify with your reasoning as I have an fx4 as well with no intentions of ever "offroading" it. Just like you I bought it to get me to the ski hill on time.

That looks good.

I laugh everytime someone lowers a 4x4 truck and all these ignorant people start with the Ford says its an offroad package why would you lower it. The majority of 4x4 pickups never even leave the road. Mines AWD. I lowered it. Its great, now I have a lowered truck, and when it snows, or the road conditions are crummy, or I come across a nasty dirt road I need to go down, I flick the switch over to 4Hi and cruise through. I wouldn't be taking my $50000 truck out in the mud anyways. I thought about lifting mine, just cause I like that look, but I decided a 1/2 ton didn't really make for a good truck to lift(no offence to anyone who has lifted). If I ever get a 1 ton truck I'll lift it.

Yep, good eye. They are Kleen Wheels, they have them for every 04-up 150 wheel except the 22" harley's and the 20" FX2 wheel.

so would the stock 2wd struts plus rear lowering shackles minus the block give the 4wd F150 the look of the 1/3 drop pic?

Looks good. Don't see any reason to remove or change decals. My wife needs the steps
too. The lowering didn't change the looks enough to justify the insults. If it's more usefull
to you now, well that's what it's all about.

Yes it would. Essentially that is what I did. Anyone who wants to try this I suggest you use stock (or stock replacement) front shocks for a 2wd. The belltechs had a terrible ride for a DD and the lower rubber bushing blew out after about a year. I have since reinstalled the stock FX4 front shocks and the stock rear shackles and gone back to the stock height except for the rear blocks.

Turns out the reason I lowered it was to make it easier for the wife to get in. I found out later that the real reason she does like to ride in my truck is because of the loud exhaust (and now the 700W RMS of Black Sabbath and Metallica and Slayer pumping thru my 10" sub). So now I'm just gonna do what I want to my truck. My next step is I'm going up, as soon as I wear out these crap pirellis. I plan on getting either some 305-55-20 or 35-12.50-20 nitto trail grapplers on my stock 20's.

On the flip side, by putting 4wd front shocks on a 2wd will get you a quick 1" lift.

Before anyone asks, I don't have any current pics at the stock height with the painted flares and mirror caps and the 09 badges. Here is an old pic at the current height, but before I did any other appearence mods.
