What about some PTM mirror caps and FX2 front valance?
Actually, I have the paint and the clearcoat, along with the flex agent and some plastic primer to paint the mirror caps and the lariat flares in dark blue pearl. After I got quotes of 5 bills to paint the flares and mirrors, I decided to try it myself. Now I'm just waiting on better weather.

As for the lower valence, I'm still deciding between an H.D. valence, an FX2 valence, and just keeping the 4x4 one and getting the tow hooks chromed.

it looks good,
and you dont have to defend what you are doing to anyone, unless they are giving you money for the payment every month.

go with the hd valance if you can, i like the fx2 but something about the way it lines up with the cab portion at a side profile just doesnt appeal to me. Pull the off-road part like you said. after all the FX4 designation is simply a suspension/amenities option package.

and another suggestion.
If you decide to go lower with a flip kit, may i suggest the flip and a LIFT shackle.
it would effectively flip the axle for lowering and you can ad one or two inches of height with the lift shackle.
with these options you can zero in on exactly how much drop you want in the rear.

oh and the stock 20s look really good on there btw

While I don't entirely agree with going down rather than up, I will endorse the fact that you're doing it for the right reasons. That said, your adjustment from 3" to 2" was a good call in my opinion. When you're that low, you don't need any rake.

Do keep us posted on how the DIY paint job turns out.

Ok, so you've got a lowered 4x4.... If you wanted to, couldn't you get an AWD transfer case from a Harley and have an AWD street truck? Would it be that easy or would there be a lot more to it?

I had the idea to do that if I was gonna build a street truck, but I don't have the tools/skill to pull something like that off.

you sir have not been reading...

what is with you guys and the 4wd HAS to be for some sort of off road stuff and go higher.
Why cant it just be for better traction and handling?

man i think one day ill get me an awd lambo or audi and jack that up, since after all everything that has power to the four wheels MUST go up.

They are just compensating for what's not between their legs.

why are all of you raggin on the guy for lowering the 4wd???? does it make you feel good? that you have a bigger 'truck' than him??? why cant you just say hey man... nice truck

because, after all it is a nice truck! its only what 2 or 3 inches lower, not like its frame on ground low.......get a life.

BTW, to those who said "remove the FX4, theres nothing off road about it anymore..." since when do decals make the truck able to go off road? you must be the same ones witht he 4x2's i see on here lookin to buy fx4 logos

I wouldn't say that. So anyone who has a lifted truck is compensating? I don't think so but I can't speak for everyone.

I'd say all the people ragging on you are just ignorant.

No, not all lifted owners are compensating, just the morons who think all 4x4's have to be lifted.
