HELP Driver side keypad not working
HELP Driver side keypad not working
So the wife tries to get in the truck the other day using the code and says its not working, I tell her the code and again it doesn't work. I can get the keypad to light up when I press it but nothing works, the code, 78/90 to lock or anything for that matter.
BTW I added the LT door handles about 6 months ago and had no problems until now, any ideas? Would the dealer warranty the work if needed even if I switched out the factory handles for LT's?
Any Ideas?

Mine just started messing up too. That is all I use. It is like my rear window, it works when it wants to. I haven't had time to mess with it now but this weekend I am going to try to see what is up.

If it ever stops raining here I will to, let me know if you find anything out while working on yours.
Update on keypad not working.
I received a replacement handle from Tasca yesterday and installed, it worked fine for about 5 minutes, I tested the keypad code 3 times, locking and unlocking, along with the 78/90 lock feature, after that it no longer works again
Anyone have any ideas as to why? Domenic @ Tasca said he would look into it as well, just asking you folks who may also have some input.

Hi, my 2007 fx4+ did something similiar.....although iirc it never lit up from the start nor worked...found out the hard way by locking my keys in and the keypad was dead. I took it to dealer and they fixed under warranty.
From the service invoice it sez:
i) pulled door panel, found keypad/door wiring ok
ii) removed rear seat back, & access vehicle security module...checked wire, no continuity
iii) followed wires down floor underneath sill plate & into kick panel...remove e-brake assembly to access connector c2095 from drivrs door to cab-interior...found pin #8 circuit #78 pushed out of connector
& mashed into outer wiring of male side.
iv) replace damaged pin in connector, connector otherwise ok.
v) function test system, ok.
...fwiw, maybe a couple other places to look for a loose connector that may be behind your intermittent problem.
