Hemi Powered F150

I recently had a 07 Ram 1500 for the day and the difference in power and response compared to my 04 F150 Lariet is night and day. Is there anything I can do to get my 5.4 to perform like the 5.7?
I was thinking K&N, exhaust and a custom tune or maybe the edge. Would those mods put me up to par with the Hemi performance?
Money is somewhat an issue, otherwise Id just supercharge my truck.
THanks!

With Troyers tuning, a Intake and exhaust you would be very close to that Hemi performance but with a much better pull on the bottom end. The Hemi doesnt really produce much power until the tach starts to swing a bit. Dont just add any intake and exhaust though, talk with Troyer about what systems make the biggest difference. Not all systems help and some dont help as much as other brands

HEMI is cool because you can actually watch the gas tank meter moving down.

yup, if it wasn't for the Ford interior, in particular the leather trim seats and console shift on the FX4's and Lariats, I'd be driving one of these now. Always liked the Ram, beefy looking truck. Their stock midrange pull power puts our stock motor/drive train to shame.

yeah, the Dodges attracted me initially with their motor. Untill I hopped into a SLT Ram...I was there maybe 30 seconds and have never looked back. The intererior was not up to par. Has Dodge gotten their Transmission and Axle problem under control yet?

if Ford were to take the 5.4 and give it the power band like a muscle car, we'd see the same effects.

That "Hemi" has some power, but honestly I think the 5.4 is a better TRUCK motor. Power/TQ are down low where you need it. The "Hemi" is somewhat higher revving and belongs in a car, or sport truck.

OP's Question: Tuner, Exhaust, Intake will get you close. About $1000-1200 for all 3 if you shop around. The S/C is a steal at $4k+ though ain't it.

My brother has a Dirty Old Disgusting Gas Eater. Stick with the Ford. My brother has a sublime green Charger Daytona. While the Hemi is impressive Dodge trucks do nothing for me.

The Titan's 5.6L is faster than a Hemi, thanks to a 5 speed auto. But then again, the Titan is ugly, right?

While we're on the subject of dodge's, my favorite truck of all time was the 01 Ram with the 5.9 that my dad let me learn to drive on. That truck was a hoss. It had gobs of power all over the place. The interior was slightly lacking, but it was ok.

We never had any tranny or rear-end issues in 80K miles. Then we traded into an 04 with the small motor. That SOB was a piece of crap.

If you favorite truck was an 01 Ram with a 5.9, you weren't buying the gas.
