Ford Service

When I purchased my truck, I had like anybody, expectations about the service department and I assumed that they would be honest courteous and responsible. This was my main reason for purchasing a Ford. I have heard horror stories about Ford service and how they can be jerks but in my personal experience I had never had any issues, unlike with my wife’s Toyota Celica. The 2 times I ever took my ranger in for service they were very nice and always gave me respect even if I wasn’t a major priority. Well, my F-150 rolled over 33k on the ticker the other day and I decided to take it in have the brakes looked at just because I felt a small vibration around 40 when breaking, I couldn’t feel it in the seat all that much but I could feel it in the steering wheel. I assumed that it was a warped rotor. In addition to that issue I need to have a piece of plastic trim on the firewall repaired, it would constantly pop up. This would mark the first time I had ever taken my truck into the Ford dealership since the day I purchased it. To me it seemed that it should take them a few hours to fix but since I was dropping it off at 3 I didn’t think I would get it back that night. Well the next day around 10 I received a phone call updating me on the status of the truck. They said they had fixed the piece of plastic trim on the firewall, and they were trying to figure out the brakes, I didn’t really understand why they were still on the brakes since I knew it shouldn’t take more than about 2 hours to smooth out the rotors and put them back on, come to find out they turned the rotors and the issue was still there, they then replaced all the pads and calipers to find the issue would not go away, then they decided to check the tires, come to find out the tires were in pretty ruff shape. He told me they were putting new tires on the truck at that time, I told him I couldn’t afford new tires for the truck and he said they were going to take care of the cost for me. As you can tell from my sig I do not have the factory rims or tires on the truck. And tires to fit on 20” Roush wheels don’t come cheap especially for someone that lives paycheck to paycheck, I could not believe that they would give me brand new tires, sure enough after replacing the tires the truck didn’t vibrate a bit, those old tires were not worn out but they defiantly were showing age, they replace my Goodyears with Pirelli Scorpion ATR something or others. They are fantastic looking tires and they ride wonderful. I was on cloud nine when I went to pick up my truck, as if they had not done enough for me already when I went to pick up the truck they had detailed it out inside and out. Without a shadow of a doubt I will be buying another Ford. This experience defiantly surpassed my expectations.

Wow, thats one to tell the kids about. I would write a letter to the owner/Service writer and thank them for such amazing service. Someone paid this bill and I doubt Ford covered it all.

Wow.

The dealer I bought my truck from took 3 months of fighting to get the factory tires replaced cause it had the bed shakes at 55mph. They wouldn't even schedule an appointment saying "the truck has sat on the lot for a few months so give it a few thousand miles and the tires should round themselves out" I finally had enough BS and dropped it off and told them I knew all about the shaking problem some of these have. Then they were a little more helpfull but still took 2 or 3 more trips back cause they never did fix the shaking until they finally ordered a new set of tires for it. Note this is one of the larger dealers in the Indy area, the sales area seems to be good but there service department is by far the worst I've ever seen when it comes to BS'ing the customer. I will never go back there to purchase a vehilce just because of the service.

I have a couple more stories but it will just **** me off if I bring them back up.

Nice to know there are still some good dealers around.

It's nice to hear a good story. I get so tired of people whining about bad dealerships.

X2. A letter to the service manager or owner of the dealership will go a long way like everyone says.

Glad to hear of your experience! I happen to have a great dealership here as well as a great Service adviser that always takes care of me. Yes there are some horror stories out there, but there are also some god dealers out there as well. Glad yours was a good one.
