He said it was a safety factor... what a bunch of bs.. some of the gas stations I've been to, it would have been safer if they let me do it rather than who was working there! I just sold my Pirelli's this past weekend. I only asked $100 for them.. I never really liked them. The loss going with the bigger tires really didn't feel like much to me. I also got my Troyer tunes last night... its still early, but already it feels better than it did before. I am considering going up to 4.56 gears in the future.
Ya, I can see it being a pain having to wait on someone. I actually just got back from Southwest Virginia. Stayed in Blacksburg area, but had an hour drive to our plant close to the WV border. Hour drive was a pain, but what a beautiful drive it was. Appalachia at its finest that I have seen!

Glad to hear you didn't feel much power loss with the bigger tires. Im not a fan of the Scorpion tires either, and plan on getting a leveling kit and AAL soon, with bigger tires. If I have to upgrade the gears that would make me think twice about it though. Again, awesome truck!

I set mine at 5 and they have been there since day 1. there is a little piece of red that sticks out further than the other pieces on the dial. turn it all the way counter clockwise and that should be position 1, you should be able to see the the little piece of red plastic at that point.

Sorry, I haven't yet... I'll get on that though! It would be nice to know for my own personal knowledge anyway.

Thanks, I just noted the clockwise and counter clockwise limits and then adjusted it right in the middle. I want to play with them a little.. I prefer a stiffer ride myself.

Hey Pat, I'm running 3.73's. Is that what you're running? You notice any difference switching to the bigger tires? I'd be lying if I said I didn't, but it was slight. I also just got my Troyer Tunes the other day, and now the truck feels about the same as it did before putting on the lift, tires and running the Edge on level 2. I'm sure I'd benefit by going to 4.56's, it just costs a little too much for me right now. Need that cash for the vette's paint!

Whats the plans for the chrome ones? I'm looking for a set that would be affordable. I think they would look better than my factory plastic ones, and be much much safer. I had a scary experience with my Silverado once, my buddy had his dirt bike in my driveway and was shutting it off, but it didn't shut off cause he accidentally didn't fully press the kill switch & he stupidly gave it gas & he crashed the bike into my Silverado, & if it wasn't for my nerf bars on it, the door would have been *******ed, so I'm sticking with nerf bars

anyways if you would be interested in selling them, are they stainless? what brand? & how much would you let them go for?

I agree with you on the nerf bars offering a little extra protection. Mine are just the stock chrome ones. I don't know what I'm doing about the steps yet... I may switch to black later... but its very low on the priority list and if it happens it probably won't be for quite some time.

Definitely a nice kit and I'm glad I went with it. I was riding at just under 39.5" from the ground to the center of the wheel well lip with the 2.5" leveling kit I had on and now I'm at 43.75" with the leveling kit off and the 35x12.5x20 M/T ATZs on. I'm very happy with it, came out looking exactly what I was going for. Nothing crazy... just more aggressive looking. Here's a few pics with a bunch more in the link in my sig.

Before - With 2.5" Leveling Kit

Re-assembling the front

With ATZ's Mounted
LOOKS SWEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 3.55's and noticed a difference in power after putting the 325's on,im sure if i got the edge and a tune it would feel alot better. But it really isnt that bad.

My '99 has a Rancho 4" lift and 33" tires. I think it's the perfect height... Not too much to look gaudy, but enough to make it look more aggressive. Perfect for me!
