did you reprogram your speedo/odometer? If not then you are getting false MPG because the truck is actually travelling farther with each tire rotation.

Before you start dropping serious coin on mods, make sure you're getting accurate readings.

I put mine on 33s, reprogrammed my edge to correct for it and have noticed a negligable difference in fuel mileage with the 4.6L and 3.55 gears

I have a roadstar, great bike. One could say that buying an import bike that drops value like crazy could be pissing money away as opposed to a harley that retains its value

Buying used fixes alot of that though

Your probably right about the false readings. I am wanting a little more throttle response and the truck too not seem bogged down.

Hard for me to buy a motorcycle when all my money goes into this...

Well...I got my truck on the market now. Gonna get a motorcycle and a used Ford Focus 5-spd.

Definitely downsizing, but my son goes to college this year, and my daughter follows next year!

My days of fun are DONE!!

Good for you for admitting that! But if your just now starting to save, you might be too late.

I'm still 15 years away from having to support my daughter in college, and I'm sure alot will change between now and then, hopefully be more online type stuff. But I think I'm going to push them into the military for a few years...so they will pay for it.

Im planning on going to my community college for my first year then moving off to a university so this gas is going to kill me. I just cant sell it for a car because of what i use my truck for...hauling stuff, hunting, boat...etc.

Good thing I got only one more semester, a locked in high-paying job doing something I like... my ugly F150... and oh yes... tons of cash for the rainy days.

I'll buy my next truck when my F150 looses all it's legs... and the frame is cracked... 'till then... if it needs parts... I'll be calling Ford Parts Dept...

Sorry if I gave that impression. We've actually done very well saving for the two of them, ever since they were born. It's just that it seems you can't save enough, because tuitions OUTPACE inflation and whatever measley returns you get on your investments! Even the 529 plans suck!

But I don't mean to hijack the thread...I wish I could keep my truck, because it is a GREAT vehicle (the BEST I've had!), but reality demands otherwise...

Should i regear, 373's...410's? or Cold air intake? or Programmer? These high gas prices are killing me right now but i love my truck to much to sell it.
When I read that I thought, "How about you quit bitching?" You put plus sized wheels and tires on a 4.6L with 3.55 gears. You knew from the very beginning that your truck was not going to get good gas mileage, so don't act surprised that you have to spend $$$ on gas.

Then you post this...

Of course you follow all that with...

So, you're a teenager (I assume, unless you're starting school later in life), with an f150 and a pimped out 4 wheeler and you've got the ***** to whine about gas prices. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you paid for your wheels, tires and other mods, but do you pay your own auto insurance? What about rent or truck payments?

On top of that you say you "need" your truck for "hauling stuff, hunting and boating".... do those things pay the bills? If not, then you don't "need" to do them. Also, if you're going to go to college, do you really think you'll have as much time to 'haul stuff, hunt or boat'?

You need to take a step back and look at your options objectively. Don't be just another spoiled kid.

Go easy on me lol. I respect your opinion. Mainly what i would like to know is what gears i should go with in my truck to gain power and at the same time be able to hit overdrive easier. It seems my truck is bogged down.

This is comical, Save the money you would put into gears. Sell your wheels and put your stockers back on. Now you will have money in the bank and better fuel mileage plus no bogging and better acceleration.
