We have (or had at one point rather) a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi, a 2005 Chevy 5.3L, and my 2006 F150 5.4L at the house... the F150 is by far the slowest of the three.

In all fairness though, my truck is the heaviest (being a 4x4) and lifted 6" on 35's and stock 3.55 gears.

My brother's Chevy (before it was stolen) was a crew cab, short bed 4x2, lowered 2/4" on 20" forged rims and 3.73 posi. His truck had an intake, tuner and exhaust which was enough to get me off the line slightly and walk away as the speeds increased.

My Mom's Dodge is a stock quad cab, short bed 4x2, with the OEM 20's and factory 3.92 gears and 5spd automatic. From a dig (from a stand-still) I can get it, but by 20mph and on it is all Dodge. Forget about racing that truck from a roll... it puts a lot of modded trucks to shame.

When I am driving the trucks normally (I.E. not racing) the Ford feels the best, and most powerfull. This is due to the broad torque band, and nice low end power. For towing my brother's Chevy was a joke, though the Dodge does okay. I think climbing a hill with a load would favor my Ford over the Dodge, though the Dodge does pull nicely on flat ground. All in all, any newer 1/2 ton truck (with the bigger V8) is going to get the job done, and be semi peppy doing it.
