body lift question

ok dont beat me up guys, i searched but did not find enough good info. i am looking to possibly put a 3 in body lift, and I am looking for pics and any info on how hard it is to do. I am very mechanically inclined and have done one on a ranger.

Why not just do a suspension lift?

I hear installing body lifts is a PITA on these trucks.

msall thanks for responding.i have had my truck for 2 years and while money will be the deciding factor i just have not been able to justify the susp. lift. I dont hardcore offroad just some lighthills and mud around here my hunting property is all fields with access tracks and this year we want to start beaching here in md. so in my reality I just dont need the susp.lift and can put that money to other toys.

pat thanks for the reply cant wait to hear how it goes.

I hear everyone strips the bed bolts. They are supposed to be pretty damn hard to do. I've heard people have had to cut off the bolt head into a six sided head and get it off that way. They are torx heads.

is it possible to modify the 3" body lift to maybe a 2" by cutting the spacers in a machine shop?

youd have to modify the bumper brackets too cause the bumper brackets will lift the bumpers 3"

cuz i had 3" body lift on top of my 6" suspension lift in my old tonka and it had way to much body roll for me.

Is this truthful - I had thought a body lift is a good option, because you don't have to worry any of the complications of a lift kit such as the strangle angle half shafts, ripping cv boots, extending axles.....

Tonka, just buy a 2" body lift. They make them from 1"-3". Id rather buy it in the right size than cut a larger one down.
