Figuring a set of 2 Ford wiper blades (IIRC they aren't even FoMoCo) are going to cost you like $30... why not take advantage of it.

Plus, it gives you good reason, "I'd like to be safe when it rains." Which is actually true, because I've had wipers go out on me in the middle of a rain/snow storm... and trust me, it's a PITA and it is dangerous to drive around like that.

Because bogus warranty claims, no matter how small, cost me (as a technician and a consumer), you (as a consumer) and the dealership money in the long run. Hey, if you really do need wiper blades before 12,000 miles, have at it, I'll never argue with a legitimate repair no matter what it is...but if you think that this is just to get you a free set of wiper blades, whether you need 'em or not, well, there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

OEM quality wipers are lucky to last a year - so why not? Get a free set after 11 months. I put a set of Bosch Icons on mine last fall - we shall see how long those last.

I put a set of Michelin Radius wiper blades in on January along with some Rain-X.

I highly recommend Rain-X for you folks.

I use Stoner's to clean my windshield, followed by the 2 in 1 Rain-X cleaner/treatment. I also use Rain-X washer fluid.
