Fender Badges...Help with Paint & Removal

Some of y'all may remember my thread a few days back about my badges and their peeling paint. Well, today I'm going to do something about them.

And that's where I need some help.

1. How do you remove those badges? Are these puppies just stuck on there? Or bolted? If they're just stuck on, I'm going to use a hairdryer and fishing line.

2. What kind of paint is good for these? I'm thinking about using Modelers paint from Wallyworld, or maybe some sort of enamel. But I don't really know jack about paint when it comes to vehicles.

3. How can I seal the new paint? I don't think my badges will look good with a 100% coating of sealer, but I figure a nice sealant over just the lettering itself would be just fine.

thanks guys. I'm itching to get this done, but I really don't want to screw it up.

They are just stuck on. There are 2 alingment holes behind the emblem. What happened toyour emblems? Did the black paint come off the lettering? I used acetone to remove the paint on mine. I thought about painting mine. It would look good with white lettering. Modelers paint or some type of glossy enamel should work good.

If your truck is still under warranty, just get them replaced.
My dealer did it for me.

I used my wifes hair dryer and a length of 40 lbs test fishing line. Heat up the badge, then slide the fishing line behind the badge in a back & forth motion. When you hit the alighnment pegs just move the line to another spot.
