I had some touch up work done on a plastic center console (similar plastic) in my Sport Trac. A custom upholstery place did it and you couldn't even tell that it had been damaged after they were done with it.

Edited to add, see how it looks after they try and "fix it" if it looks like crap they can order you a new dash. My steering wheel on my Sport Trac had some cracking in it, they tried to "fix it" under warranty and it looked good for a week and then it looked even worse than before the repair. I just took it back and they replaced the whole thing. Someone that does half decent work should be able to get your dash looking good though.

That's a tough situation... Do you accept them just repairing it, yet always knowing that it's not perfect? Or do you have them replace the entire dash piece, and risk them screwing up other stuff in the process?

Keep us updated on the fix as I would like to see how it looks and what was done to fix it.

There must be a cognitive handicap about reading and understanding...

And your reply has what to do with the topic?
I think you should make them replace with a new piece.A cobble job is what you will get if they try to repair it.

well they did the repair. it isnt to bad, but i can tell. they didnt spray the paint on like i thought, they just brushed it over the repaired spots and you can see it in the sunlight. most people wont notice it, but i do. i wouldnt be so mad if i did the damage and the repair turned out like this, but they did it and it should never of happened in the first place. its ok for now, but i might want to try to repair it better in the future. anyone know of anyone good in the michigan (detroit) area that specializes in this type of repair..here are some pics...
