Bronco Blitz Build
2006 Bronco
Just thought I'd share a little project going down this weekend.
We're taking a wrecked 2006 F150 and shortening the chassis/driveline it to fit under a 1979 Bronco shell.

Yesterday saw an EXTREMELY successful day. Got the new chassis shortened and completely welded back up. Today will see mounting the Bronco shell to the shortened F150 chassis and working out the brakes and steering. There are going to be a few interference issues to work out, but nothing too difficult to overcome.
Pretty obvious now that the original goal of driving the Bronco around the block by the end of the weekend was a bit overreaching. But, no matter, I already consider the weekend a huge success.

Had a few webcam failures what with the welders and plasma cutter f'in with the power to the webcam server computer, but oh well. I should still be able to get some good chucks of timelapse footage out of it. I can't wait to see the footage...
Side note, the old 1979 Bronco chassis is in EXCELLENT condition. I'd prefer to see it go in one fell swoop, but will part out if no one wants the whole thing.

I remember reading a post of yours before about this project and I was hoping that you ould chime in once you got started. It looks like a very fun project!!! Keep us posted on the build and GOOD LUCK! I can wait to see it once everything is done.
BTW, where are you located? I have a buddy that might be interested in the Bronco chassis depending on you location.

what in the world made you want to use our drivetrain? If I had the knowledge, skill and ability you have the 3v 5.4 is the last engine I'd use offroad. I can't stop warpping my exhaust manifolds because of my temps offroad, and it's not an easy fix.
I wouldnt mind getting those axles off of ya. I just bought a '66 Bronco, and those would work great for my tuck. Shoot me an email at bigtorque82@yahoo.com if interested in parting.
Or let me know how much you want for the whole rolling chassis. Maybe we can work something out.

I would agree if he was building an off-road beast, but that is not the objective.
Can't wait to see it finished.

I am jealous. That will be a great Bronco IMO. I've had 3 of them over the years and they can't be beat for looks and fun to drive.
I think you've got something else going on. are your heads warped. I've spent hours in 4x4lo with 0 issues
