There is a black cover already there on the OE shocks. It gets reused.

just for clarification, I'm pretty sure the 5100 and hd are 2 different shocks. the 5100 are silver, and hd are yellow.

can't comment on the fronts as i only have the rears installed. they made a world of difference compared to stock. my stockers were worn completely out though so it may not be a fair comparison. compressing them from below to get them in the shock perch is a huge chore though so be warned.

I was on the beach a few weeks ago and there was a lot of bounce but I didnt air down. How are they on the street? Is it a stiff ride? And do you have the shocks that lift the front 2''?

I have 1.5" Autospring up front.

I dont have silver bilstein shocks cuz at that time when i ordered yellow it was not release silver shocks.

I air down to 20 psi to aviod harm tranny.

Street- its great! its not too stiff . i like it also it does a very well to aborsb bouces, unpaved road, pothole etc

Where did you go beach? i go to sore thumb/dem. point by robert moose.

My stock shocks were taken off and replaced with Bilstein 5100's at about 500 miles.
Night and Day difference. Truck rides just as smooth when it needs to be.

Over big bumps and crappy roads it stays planted to the ground and the truck feels in control, where my stockers would let the bed go where ever it wanted to.

I highly highly recommend them.

Personally I wouldn't even bother with the Bilstein HD series, go straight to the 5100's.
