30k
just had my truck into the dealership for the 30k (or i should say 32k). I paid $180. oil change, transfer case change, air and fuel filters, multi point inspection, fog light bulbs (under warranty) and whatever other little things they did that i am leaving out. they said the plugs were fine and tranny did not need a flush and to bring it back at 45k.
What do you guys think? good or bad price and your opinions on changing the tranny and plugs? Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

Why did they change the transfer case fluid and fuel filter??
I'm pretty sure transfer case is 100k miles and fuel filter is maybe 50k??
I have 30k coming up on my truck soon, all I'm doing is changing the oil, air filter, and maybe rotating the tires. I'll buy the parts will cost me $30,
I know for a fact plugs are 100k, and the tranny fluid is "supposed" to NEVER need changing, but I'll do mine at 100k.

Are you having tranny problems? Did you have transfer case problems?
personally I can not see paying $180 to change oil and filters and check fluid levels and inspect the truck for issues. of coarse if you do not know what to look for when inspecting it yourself it would be a good idea to have ford do a inspection. but for me I just look it over myself. and change my own oil and filters.
the plugs are supposed to be changed at 100,000 miles as well. but many change them sooner. I will probably change mine out at arround 50 to 60 thousand miles as well as the o2 sensors.

I've found many different opinions on the plugs. From my personal experience, I had a 2005 w/35,700 mi when an injector stuck open. Dealer tried to replace that plug and broke it off. That's when I knew it was time to trade it for a new one. I wouldn't go too many more miles if I was in your shoes, but I'm sure others will have different opinions. Of course this only applies to the 5.4.
I just checked the maintenance schedule for a 2006 F150 4x4 with auto trans.
Your right, every 30k for fuel filters, my bad.
However, I was right with the sparkplugs at 100k, and FORD actually says to change the transfer case AND transmission fluid at 150k, not 100k.
I mean it can't hurt to change this stuff sooner then recommended, but I would think it's a waste of money just for the fact it's not required. The reason they recommend certain intervals is because thats what is REQUIRED to keep the truck maintained.

yeah i made sure to look at the guide before i took it in. thats why i decided to ask everyone here because the tranny should have been done and the transfer case should not of been done. i was just curious what other peoples experience was with their 30k.
thanks for all the input.

do you have the 5.4? I am not sure if we have the torqshift transmission. I know in my owner manual it states spacific transmissions that need to be changed at 30K and my tranny was not listed as one of them so the manual says the rest need changed at 150K . this newer scheduled maintance copied by JMBdevotee states torqshift trannys need changed at 30K. I am not sure the torqshift tranny is the one in our trucks but I will look into this some more. I am thinking it is not the tranny that is in our trucks. as I remember when I bought my truck ford was claiming a lifetime transmision fluid. thus the 150K change. unless things have changed sense I bought my truck.

The dealer made some $ of you
I looked up the specs. someone gave me this link years ago. I sometimes refer to it for specs on the f150. it states on page 20 what transmission we have and that it has a lifetime transmission fluid. here is a link.
