I plan to use some sealant and make sure the edges are well covered so there is no leaking issues before i install them. Should be good to go then!

Get the Harley's

Bought the E-Bayers and sealed before installing. Think about it, having to fix something that's new before you even use it. The passenger light still started leaking after about 10 mos. Put the stockers back in with the intention of resiliconing the blacks. It's then when I really noticed the difference in the optics. Find the Harley's from an online discount dealer and remove from box, install, and forget about problems.

With a proper amount of silicon, they could be sealed correctly with no leaks..

Let me know if you have them or just your thoughts!
I bought a set from that same seller. I sealed them up with caulking, and a month later, I see a small amount of condensation inside the lens. I'll have to go over them again once it's warm out so the caulking can cure properly.
As far as lighting goes, they work very well. I noticed no difference between the light output of stock vs. ebay. I was up north last week driving on country roads and didn't need highbeams at all.
They look very good as far as quality goes. Obviously the quality isn't the greatest or they wouldn't leak, but looking at them, you wouldn't know that they're cheap knockoffs...

I think they're a worthwhile buy since the HD lights cost ~$500. Just make sure to seal around the lens, and let it dry completely before installing.

I am debating this same thing ! Not sure if I really want black heads for $500!

So, you guys buying the cheap-o's. Are you doing the over thing to take em apart and re-seal ? or just squirting some on there ?

Mine should be in tomorrow along with my HID's. I'm going to run a bead of black silicone around the headlights. Hopefully they wont leak.

i just put mine in for right now as-is. weather was going to be nice this week and i was in a rush to get to work so i didnt do it. before it rains or i was my truck im going to put some on right over the top of each little clip connection thingy that holds thier assembly together. you can see where thier sealant is in some areas, and where ever it looks a little thin i will give it a nice coat.

i cannot justify spending 500 bucks on a set of headlights. if and when the cheapo's ever get to the point where i need to replace or work on them some more, the stockers will go back in and i will fix the cheapo's with the baking and prying apart method to get them sealed up right. but until then, im happy with my $140 spent.

They are cheap... just squirt it around the edges. That's what I did.

Also the light is definitely not as good as stock fixtures. I'm assuming because half of the reflective material is gone due to the black. They look bitch'n in the day though.

To everyone saying these lights aren't as good as the original (including myself) have you guys adjusted the vertical alignment of your headlights ? I did this tonight and I found out these black headlights ship at the highest setting. If you bring them down a little they are back to shining just like the stock headlights.

Look at page 60 of manual
