Here in Tennessee, I carry "uninsured motorist" coverage, just in case the other person is at fault and does not have insurance. If that happens, my insurance company pays for my damages, then goes after the person at fault for compensation.

I think you should pay the difference and put a Road Armor bumper on the front of that thing!

That's what I have too... people down state should have it, because of the illegals from Mexico driving without licenses and registrations, and insurance.

Uninsured motorist coverage is required in Virginia. If the guilty party is uninsured or underinsured, the policy pays as if it insured the other vehicle.

Well the adjuster came to day and looked at the truck. Initial estimate was only $4238, but that's basically for stock parts, not for aftermarket items. I have to produce receipts for all the aftermarket items and then they will cover them. I am unable to locate my receipt for the lift, but emailed the shop who did the work in hopes they can fax me another one tomorrow. Doesn't do a whole lot of good for the repair shop to return the one side to stock suspension because I won't even be able to get the wheel back on the truck. The one thing I know I won't be able to produce is the receipt for the bull bar, oh well just gonna have to live with the dent. It'll be my reminder of the accident.

The shop started ordering and actually receiving some of the parts today and is gonna start tearing the truck down tomorrow. Hopefully that's a sign that'll she'll be back on the road soon.

All sounds good. So far how is state farm helping you out? I had an 86 toyota 4x4 that was stolen twice in one year. With some mods. And state farm replace all the stolen parts. You must be dying not driving your truck ,I know I would be. Goodluck

State Farm has actually been pretty good so far, much better than I expected from an insurance company. Hopefully at the end of everything I can still say that, but I am totally happy to have State Farm so far. I called the rep earlier this evening and ensured they understood that OEM suspension parts can't be put on the truck because I'm stuck right where I'm at right now if they do that and that's with an undrivable truck.

I got to see the truck again this evening and I really hate seeing it damaged like it is. I plan to stop into the shop again tomorrow and see if I can get some shots of the truck and hopefully some more throughout the repair process. It is driving me nuts not to have it sitting outside.

You don't need the receipt to be paid for the damaged parts. They are there to be seen. The adjuster just wants you to product the receipts so it will be easier for him. You only need receipts when the parts are out of sight (like stolen). I've been there and done that as I was an adjuster for 30+ years.

who did the lift? What shop is doing the work? If they send it to be aligned try to get it done at Island Brake and Alignment. They are the best for lifted trucks, that's were Maui Off-road get's it done at.

Yeah I spoke to a State Farm rep today and he said they are going to get the truck back to pre-accident form with or without the receipts. The only reason they need to see the receipt is so they can write a separate check for the increased costs above the OEM suspension parts. I told them that the receipt only shows the cost for the enitre lift and not for individual parts so the repair shop is going to be working with the shop who installed my lift and try to get a parts list.

The good news is that the repair shop is actually gonna finish up all the body work and then have the truck sent to Maui Off-Road to get all the suspension work done.

That's good, Maui Off-Road does great work I always like driving by and seeing all the trucks out front.

Yeah they have some super nice trucks down there. They did the gear install on my truck when I first got to the island. I wasn't getting a warm fuzzy from the repair shop regarding the suspension job, they said "well I guess I could get a mechanic that knows how to do that." Was really glad to hear that the repair shop wasn't going to tackle the suspension replacement themselves.
