2300# car speeding...it looks like she dragged down the drivers side...so I'll bet her bumper or tire caught his rear tire and broke the axle bolts or leaf springs

the drive-shaft is only a slip-yoke on this model, so it just fell out the rear of the transmission when the axle moved backwards.

sorry for the loss, but I'm thinking they won't total it out. the axle is easily fixed and most of the damage looks cosmetic. hopefully I'm wrong and a shiny new 08/09 is in the future

For her! These new F150's really take some punishment. There was a pic on here sometime last year of one that hit a interstate sign and took out one of the poles. Guy walked away with minor injuries if any and the truck was strong enough to hold up the sign on the side it hit.

That is correct! The F-150 is probably the only private passenger vehicle on the road that I would ever want to be involved in a head on accident with! I've seen some of the accidents that they have endured on this site, & outside, & its one tough vehicle!......."Built Ford Tough", is not just a slogan!.....

There is going to be alot of possible hidden damage in the frame and suspension area. Request the truck be put on a frame rack and measured for straightness and square. Also make sure the a-pillar and roof did not buckle from the impact.

Mine was involved in an accident yesterday and this question is also on my mind as well. Check out my thread (Accident & some questions) where the guys have been giving me some stuff to look for. Frame damage is a huge concern of mine so I'll certainly be having the frame of mine looked at really well as you should have with yours.

Girls = Bad Drivers

Alcohol = Makes any one a bad driver

Girls + Alcohol = They should of never been born.
I have heard that two wrongs make a right, sometimes Girls + Alcohol are quite nice.

I was at the stealership today for an oil change/rotation and they had an 05 reg cab 8' bed super duty they were rebuilding from the ground up. The driver hit a patch of ice on the freeway and slid into a concrete barrier, bent the frame horn on the pass side, pushed the right fender back into the door, which was pushed into the back wall of the cab. On impact, the pallet full of sand bags in the bed broke loose and slid into the back wall of the cab and pushing it in about 6 inches and shattering the back window. Also, the bed was mangled beyond repair. The insurance company is paying to repair the truck, including the new frame. The tech I talked to said that ford will not allow them to straighten the frame, they have to be replaced. He also said the estimated repair bill is more than 20 grand.

Glad your safe. Looks like you got pretty lucky. A couple inches to the left and she would have been a head-on, glancing blow sending her spinning and possibly into a tree or traffic. Several inches and she'd have been in your face.
