A Couple Inches From Destruction :(
As already mentioned a regular brush guard will not protect much at highway speeds, they help some in slow collisions, but not much. I had a ranger with a brushguard and had a guy back out in front of me in a parking lot and hit him at about 10mph, pushed entire guard back and bent the support bars for the guard. Yes, the truck left with only minor scratches and would have been alot worse without it, but at highway speeds it will not help you any.
Only guard that will do any kind of protection as you are looking for is like what impact has if you can fork up the dollars for it. Regular brushguard will help and is better than nothing, but still gonna get damage.

That's coffee on the rear door, right?
Looks like a drug deal gone bad.
Brush guard isn't gonna do sh*t in a situation like this, what I would recommend.......8" Rize and a Road Armor and or Boondocks bumper.

Well now I survived one with sub compact car. But it was going about 10 miles per hour and I only scuffed the paint on my bumper alittle. The eclipse on the other hand was crushed from the driverside front tire all the way to the driverside rear tire. And to the top of the roof of the car. And didnt cost me a dime>
Shines beat me to the GMC pics. Looks like a brush guard wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference there. I they're just walking/running across the road you might have a chance, but if they try jumping they're coming right at you. My dad was driving down the road and had one jump OVER his car catching a hoof right above the right front window. As cheesy as they are, I'd probably try the whistles first.

Basically deer got hit by another car flung into the air and landed on the GMC. All the blood, guts, brains etc is from the deer. A boondocks or ranch hand might fair pretty well with a deer.
YES! Deer horns do work, listen to someone who has driven 1.25 million miles in the last 7 yrs. i replace mine every month, and depending on dirty, dusty conditions (snow, ice) even more often! They are very inexpensive, compared to the costs of replacement, and or repairs to your nice truck! You will be amazed to drive up on deer from .25(1/4) miles away and you see the deer run, yes run away from you. Its a wonderful site. By the way you guys are driving $15-$30k+ peices of equipment, i drive a $125k piece of equipment with another $100k-$750k worth of frieght on the back. I have been getting mine at Wal-mart for $7.99 for a set, you can get them at the dollar tree, but i have noticed that the one dollar set only whistels for a period of about one week! Not sure why, but they dont last long. The sets i have been getting at Wal-mart i do honestly get 1 month( 14k miles)out of. You will know that they have quit working when the deer quit running from you! Hope that my info has been of help to atleast a one of you guys( or gals).
