I would recommend an alarm just because you never know. I used to go to Detroit all the time for hockey and baseball games and I would always park in the streets. I was nervous at first but Detroit gets a pretty bad reputation. I've left my truck in the streets until 2 A.M. sometimes and never had a problem. I have seen plenty of broken windows though in cars but they are always older models. The thieves are more afraid of the newer models plus they have moved on from car stereos to copper pipes and wiring. Good luck in the dirty D.

I bought the SA-9000 from Travis and I love it. Back in October my truck was broken into a month before I was moving - they got my radio, sirius tuner, ipod interface and ipod. All in all between the window, part of the dash and radio loss, I was looking at 2500 in damage.

Insurance company paid me in full (thank god) and I my dad wanted to get me something useful for christmas so I had him order me the alarm through Travis. This is the second two-way system I have had, but it blows the one in my last truck out of the water. I had a problem with the remote (stopped working out of no-where) and Travis was able to get me a replacement pretty quick. His support is second to none.

Frankly, for those of you who feel you dont need an alarm because you may not live in a high crime area - rethink that train of thought. I didn't live in an area known for crime, yet they hit 6 vehicles in that neighborhood that night.

It happens, and hopefully with the alarm it could prevent it. Remote start is also nice - I missed it.

I also purchased the digital tilt sensor and the Car-link module to call it up from a phone to start or unlock the doors. Everything this alarm can do is great so far!
