Question Two way alarm

I have been thinking about upgrading my alarm for a while now. Well a couple days ago I noticed the my "lock" button does not work right it collapsed so it still works but it is really sensitive. I am going to get the remote start but I can't decide what kind to get. I know a lot of people have the two way types. My question is if they are worth it. My truck is either right infront of the store where I work or a bit a way while I am at school. I don't know how effective the paging devices are. Any input?

I've got a Code Alarm SRT9000. I like knowing that I can check when I get inside a store or building and look at the fob to see if my truck is locked and other little things, in case I forgot to lock it when I got out of the truck. So for me the two way paging is really nice to have.

Thanks for info! How well does the distance work?

I haven't actually tested the distance but it is suposed to be 1 mile, the furthest I have used it about 2000 feet roughly, inside a rather large building. I'm sure it can go much further though.

The main problem I'm having is with the main remote fob, the one with the color LCD screen. When I first got the kit the remote wouldn't charge and now the replacement won't work at all, which me droping it couple times hasn't helped but still this thing SHOULD work.

I have Automate and the paging system works up to a mile and works great. I have it lock itself just incase I forget or the wife forgets. Works good and if I were to lock my keys inside the truck I have keyless entery. It will tell you temp inside the truck which is a nice feature when the auto start is on and I dont want to get in truck when its to hot or to cold. Automate makes Viper so it has all those features also.

Yeah that's what I remember hearing. I was driving today and I clocked a mile, that is quite a bit aways... So you have to recharge the fob?

Wow! a mile, that is ridiculous. I'm assuming inside a building the reception diminishes right? Can you give me a rough idea? I usually park half a mile away from my truck when at school.

i have the code ca671 from travis at kcautosound.com with his instrutions it took me 3 hours to install i love it but the range isnt great i think its because of my antenna placement behind the tint....but if i were to get a new alarm id pay the extra for the srt series

Clifford RSX 3.5 here, Ill never have another alarm that isnt 2-way. I recentely walked out on some guys about to break into my truck. I set off the alarm and the scattered, but as I was rounding the house the pager went off to say someone touched the truck. Now any time the pager rings no matter what the screen says i go check on the truck. I also had 4 more shock sensors added to the 4 i already had, wheel sensors, and DEI starter kill ontop of the start kill that came with the alarm. I want as much insurance against theft as I can get....I highly recommend the clifford RSX to anyone and everyone. its not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I have a auto page 727 and I have never had a better alarm before. It was not cheap BUT it was well worth the money spent.
