Edge Problems HELP!!!!!

Hey guys i need help on what to do. About a month ago my truck randomly died on me while getting lunch(came back out wouldnt start), had to get towed to the dealer and they ended up reflashing the computer and said they found a corupt file.... since then i had not hooked my edge back up until tonight. I went to return the edge back to stock so that it would be unlocked, and when i did so i have the same problem and now the truck wont start. As i am at home right now i am trying to update the software version on the edge, etc to see if that will fix the problem. having never updated before i just now installed the software but when i go to update it says server cant be found, mostlikely server is down for maitance please try later.... wtf should i do? i have school and work early in the morning and cant afford to have it towed back to a dealer and reflashed? HELP

Sounds like you flashed your truck back to the same curupt file by doing a return to stock. You should have done that before you brought it to the dealer. Your edge still thinks its on level 2 or what ever level you had it on before you brought it to the dealer.

I am not pisitive this will work, but maybe unplug your battery for a hour or so. That might reset everything.

I am just throwing a guess out there but thats one thing i would try.

I think you might be out of luck! Does the edge show a level 0 in the top right corner?

You could try loading level 2 again to see if it over writes the curupt part of the file and see if that does it. Then return it back to stock. Hmmm then it will load the crap file again! I think your looking at another trip to the dealer.

Bring it back to the dealer and give em chit saying its doing it again and be like WTF!

They reflash it and your golden. Just remove the edge before you bring it.

Maybe ASEMechanic can give you a pcm flash for your stratergy of your truck and load it into the edge. Then do a return to stock again with the new file. Im sure Bill will be able to help you. If not go with what i said above.

just got off the phone with edge. they walked me though a few trouble shoot and reloading of new files. In the end it wasnt able to work so they gave me the choice of having it taken to the dealership and the dealership reflash and they would reimburse me, or they would overnight me a stockwriter and a new edge... since i didnt really have time to get towed into the dealer today they are overnighting the other things to me. while this does absolutely suck and is completely inconvience, edge support has been one of the best i have ever worked with for anything. ill update you guys tomm when i know if the stockwriter etc does the trick.

Edge only writes to a portion of the PCM. When you "returned to stock" after the dealer flash, you wrote the original stock file back to a portion of the PCM and the new file from the dealer still occupied the rest. That's why it won't start. The PCM is confused.

Give the dealer crap because they fixed it correctly the first time and the thread starter screwed it up again?

I really wonder about some of you guys.
