i don't know you and i don't mean to poke at you but 99% of the guys on this forum are tried and true blue oval guys. they know the product inside and out and do not switch out their vehicle to the "flavor of the week" every eight months. as risesupercreman stated above.... you need to get your facts straight.

by the way - welcome to the forum.........

The frame hasn't changed since it came out in 2004 (I work for Nissan and have seen for my self). Nissan is just now attacking the whole boxed frame issue in comercials...like the Ford one where they compared them selfs to dodge and chevy...we used to laugh how they never compared the domestics to the imports (cause there was no competition) I'm not trying to say I'm a know it all and start a huge long thread about this and that, but do so some research before you claim. I love the Ford and its well made, like almost every truck on the market now-a-days. Just like the new Titan commercial where it shows a Titan bed and a F150 bed with a dirt bike in the back...it so stupid...if you knew anything about trucks you'd know they are comparing their new long bed to a F150 short bed (though Ford make a long bed too) its all a ploy and stupid people believe it. Oh and plus the bikes back wheel is tied down in the back of the Titan and not the Ford. The honest truth is the bed rail system in the Titan sucks, and I wouldn't trust my $10k quad to be tied to it.

I'm not into the flavor of the week either...I want to be well versed in all vehicles and be able to give a fair comparison. I have owned multiple Fords and still do. I worked for Ford for 4 years and customized many vehicles inside and out. I just never personally owned a F150. This is my first, but I have driven everything from the Lightning to a Roush stang. so please I'm not just another car *****... I'm more like and escort...

from this comment i can see you are totally out of touch with reality. you won't make many friends around here saying these kind of things. they don't compare them because they are not even on the radar.

To be honest it's been hard getting over the power difference in the trucks (we know the Ford isn't the beast the Titan is) but the truck drives great and seems to be well made. Its a 2004 FX4 screw with 42K and I have added a Banks intake, Superchips programmer, Magnaflow exhaust (side dump SI/SO before the tire w/ a black chrome tip), Bilstein strut/shocks adjusted to the 2" setup, and a set of ProComp 7005 20" wheels and Nitto 305/55R20 TG's. I'm waiting to close on a house here in the next couple months and that will determine if I end up getting the Rize 8" with some BFG Km2 37's. (plus gears... I wouldn't even want to know how it would drive w/out them...lol). well this is it and thanks..

Also a pic of the Titan I sold and My Mustang that I currently own as well (love the stang!)

hope this link works.

The ford is defiantly better in terms of a huge market for custom stuff and power upgrades even things like gears weren't available for the Titan. I love my mustang and to be honest I never though in a million years I'd own either of these vehicles, but it just shows that not everything is what we anticipate and expect. I love all cars and trucks (with in reason) but it cant be stock. I do lifts/drops and power upgrades and visual upgrades for pretty much anything I can get my hands on. Okay now to answer some questions...

its ok, we dont need to hear all the excuses why you switched, we understand.

jk man, welcome to the site, nice truck.

whens the last time you drove anything beside your Ford?...and friends with trucks dont count....seriously have you driven another truck for more than a "10 minute test drive?" I could care less what friends I make or not, its about having an open mind and not believing all the stereotypical hype (from any manufacture). I just hate when people spew out miss information. I deal with customers all day that want something (or dont) because some douche' on a forum said this or that. I just want people to be realistic and let go of the my dads better than your dad ego. If I never let go of my Chevy is better than Ford , Dodge and Nissan ego, I'd never realized what a piece of junk GM trucks are...lol I'm joking!

Oh and by the way I like the elcamino.

Welcome to Ford. Nice rims man, been looking at a few different black rim setups. Getting BFG AT 325x60x18 and need some nice black rims for em.

As you can see, your post has already been polluted by the "I'm high on Ford" folks and more will come. Some are so full of opinions and bash anything other than the blue oval even though they have never driven what they are so full of stupid comments on. ( but saw a commercial, read an article, or know a friend of a friend... etc.. ) You bought Ford, supported Ford product, even posted pic's, but that's not enough... Those who drive em all, and then buy what they like and post honest experiences as well as opinions is what will keep Ford on their toes and means a better truck for all of us. Perhaps in 09, Ford will listen and not be the slug of 1/2 tons and build a truck with decent power, since there is an obvious market for this classification of 1/2 ton '4x4' truck and it ain't no secret that potential Ford sales have been diverted.

What the heck happened to this thread. Let me just say Welcome to the site, hope you have a great time with your Ford, and don't get too wrapped up into all the hype. I've owned just about every major truck that has been produced in the last 8 years, they've all got their problems, including my Ford.

Welcome to a great board, just dont let the ignorant Ford Fanboys leave a bad taste in your mouth. Not a person on here hasnt wished for an automatic with more than 4 speeds, OR a motor making the kind of power coupled with fuel efficiency of the Titan. I love my Ford but of course it has its shortcomings.

i did my homework before buying my truck. i really wanted to buy a chevrolet 1500HD. i thought "that is what i want". but i read anything i could get my hands on that gave me info about the chevy, ford and dodge trucks. (nissan was just getting on board and the tundra was still the small truck in 2004). after a few hour test drive (i drove each of them home and back), i had my mind changed. i went with the ford. i had two dodge trucks before that.... so i don't have a blue oval tattooed on my backside. i agree...i have never driven a titan or a tundra but have seen them at the car show.... and have read a fair deal about them.

i believe that i have an open mind based on the research and expereinces i have had.

I'm interested to know why you think the Titan's rail system is so bad? This is the only thing that had me thinking about the Titan because it seems that with me hauling motorcycles around it would be very handy to have. We used it on a friends truck hauling a refrigerator across town and it seemed to be very well made and sure made tying that thing down securely easy. I'd also be interested to know how it compares to the one that Toyota sells with their trucks. I kind of wish Ford would have that kind of option, but I don't regret buying my truck one little bit. Just yesterday I was out cruising to the store thinking of how much I love this truck.

please dont worry, it takes a lot more than that to upset me....just think of all the crap I get from all the TitanTalk members when I sold my Titan...only to buy a Ford...Since I'm a reputable Nissan vendor and take care of a lot of people I get tons of flak and some hate e-mails (that were jokes but still). To be honest a few of the Titan Talk members are from here...looking for info on the Titan (I wont name names...lol). Which is good thats what these forums are all about.

GixxerJasen the floor rails are nice to have but I never used them since it was hard to get in there and ratchet my quad down. When I used the side rails, you'd see the bed side pull in and flex. That was enough for me to just use the cleats. Some things look cool and may be practical in your head...but they dont always work in real life...plus unless you used the cleat stops, they could come loose over a long trip and let your cargo shift...oh and I posted a pic of my GSXR1000 just for you.

to more fun!
