P060B Code?

Has anyone had a P060B “Internal control module analog to digital processing performance” Code? I had one today and the truck ran horrible and would not respond to the throttle. I parked it and all was fine when I returned from work. Any ideas what could cause this?

Thanks!

No edge!

OnBelay, the code is P060B not P0060. I did get "Forced Idle" (P2104) and "Forced Limited RPM" (P2110) also. I assume these are a result of the P060B.

Thanks,
John

OnBelay,

I don't know where you are getting your info because this code exists! If you doubt me, please read the service manual. Below is an excerpt from an article reference this exact code. Also, below that is a selection out of a previous post on this forum that has this code listed. By the way, I know that a code is a fault indicator and the reason I posted my question was to find out if someone could help with a diagnosis.

Thanks,
John

...The code P060B is part of a newer line of trouble codes that will be more common in the coming years. P060B is for “Internal control module analog to digital processing performance” see photo #11. Simply put, the PCM recognized a fault within its analog to digital converter. That P060B is part of a new line of codes that will continue to grow as time goes on. Another of these is P060X for “internal processor failure”. As you can see, the little letter at the end of the new codes does make a significant difference, because a P060 is a completely unrelated description of “HO2S Heater Resistance (Bank 2, Sensor 2)”.

.........
P0606 Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Processor
P0607 Control Module Performance
P060A Internal Control Module Monitoring Processor Performance
P060B Internal Control Module A/D Processing Performance
P060C Internal Control Module Main Processor Performance
P0611 Fuel Injector Control Module Performance
P061B Internal Control Module Torque Calculation Performance
.........

What the hell, Ford only charges $2500 per year for access to that information, and I'm sure that the shops that pay for that information are wasting their money compared to where ever you pulled this information out of.

If you want to believe that post, I guess it's worth what you paid for it, and I sincerely apologize for trying to help you by answering your question. I will now go flail myself with a cat o'nine tails, prostrate myself across a bed of coals, and forever be ashamed for attempting to help you.

In the meantime, I am glad to hear that you have fixed the problem that led you to post the question, and feel greatly relieved that your life is problem free despite my meager attempts to answer your question.

Settle down there Sparky! It is possible that you are incorrect. My Ford service DVD clearly lists P060B as a valid DTC.

P060B - Internal Control Module A/D Processing Performance

Description: Indicates an error occurred in the powertrain control module (PCM). This DTC is set in combination with P2104 or P2110.

Possible Causes: Damaged PCM

Diagnostic Aids: Do not install a new PCM until the following steps are completed.

Inspect the harness for damage. Verify correct operation of the sensors using VREF and related circuits. GO to Pinpoint Test C .

If the concern or DTC is still present, install a new PCM. Refer to Section 2, Flash Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) .

To the OP, sorry but I don't have any info on how to solve your problem. I just wanted to confirm that your DTC is legit.

OnBelay,

My apologies for coming across as if I was questioning your intelligence… I hope the cat of nine tails and the coals didn’t leave any scars! It would be a shame to see anyone get hurt over a forum post!

BTW, the truck has been running fine since then, so I guess I will wait and see.

Thanks

It might not be the actual throttle body itself. It almost sounds like the wire harness from the throttle body. Something might be chaffed and shorting. My best guess.

From reading around it might be a bad PCM or it needs to be reflashed from the dealers.

Again, just going by what I did with some google searches of: ford p060B p2104 p2110.

I get a code of P060C every time my 2010 ford F150 5.4 goes into limp mode. Other than "internal control module main processor performance" what does this mean? Just what is wrong with my F150? I just got the truck last month and no one seems to know what is wrong with it.

no one seems to know what is wrong with it.
Not even the Ford dealer?
