How much airspace did you manage out of that subbox?

Looks great, nice and clean, I love it. Keep it up

Edit...how do you have that back panel/amp board attached to the back wall?
Curious in that myself. My extended cab has some bolts that held in the rear seat child seat safety straps, I was going to use those to anchor the top, but wasn't sure how to go about anchoring the bottom unless I connect it to a false floor.

Looks good man

In your doors, are those aftermarket tweeters in the stock location? If so, how did you mount them and did you have to do any trimming?

First off, thanks to everyone for the kind words.

and now on to the questions:

Tweeters, yes they are the JL ZR series tweets in the stock location, the mounting bracket that came with them as well as the flush mounting solution, both were kinda bulky and ugly, and I wanted to very much keep a stockish look, so I had to get creative. the tweeters themselves are a bit smaller than the stock mounting hole, 1/16" to be exact. I wrapped the tweeters with about 3 layers of good electrical tape, then put a small line of superglue right where the flange on the tweeter would stop against the plastic. It might sound a bit ridiculous, but it worked perfectly.

Looks AWESOME man!!! Most impressed!

Thanks for the compliments!

The Back panel wasn't too bad to do, Just watch your measurments. It wasn't an easy square like I had hoped in the planning stage, because when I got in there and started building I realized I still would need Jack access, So I made a little curve, which you can see in my pics, so that if need be I can still get the jack out. It will be a PITA, but it'll come out when I need it to.

It also needed a lip to cover the back a little too, which can also be seen in one of the pics. That lip though doesn't go all the way across the back window...it stops because the trim piece curves up, so to combat that I cut the carpet to match the contour of the trim piece and the carpet just lays loose at each end, but you wouldn't know that by just looking at it.

I actually referenced your install a couple times in the planning process of all this, so for that I thank you.

The back wall is mounted with 3 2" Self tappers. only 3 because once I got those on there it was pretty clear that wall wasn't moving, so I didn't feel the need to put extra holes in my truck. I put em into one of those supports sticking out, and was very careful not to miss and make another cab vent.

I did the best I could to hide the screws, (See pic below) the middle one I painted flat black, then sprayed adhesive on it and sprinkled carpet fibers on it from some extra carpet pieces I had laying around. once it all dried, you couldn't tell there was a screw there at all.

The platform isn't held on with anything at all, it was built to such exact dimensions that it fits perfectly between my seats and the back wall, very lightly wedged if you will. not enough to hurt the seats, but enough where it ain't moving.

The Sub box is also just sitting, in a week it hasn't moved a mm, so I don't know if I wanna leave it or attach it to the platform. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to attach it because once the sub is in there I imagine it will move some.

As for the box itself when you subtract the volume of the braces and the stated volume of the driver (From JL) it will be .88 cu. ft. Thats not taking in to account the volume of the sealant, but i can't see that being equivalent to much really.

Well, I got a Garmin thingy from my family for xmas, and recieved this headunit for my Bday (in Jan) which is what kinda gotthe ball rolling on all of this anyway, so that hasn't cost me a dime yet, but I do want to upgrade to a 205 or a pioneer Nav unit one day, just not right now.

Perfect, thanks for the reply Once you get that 3rd seatbelt out of there it really opens it up it looks like, and Ive aways been trying to work around it.

Me thinks once it warms up I might be replacing that flimsy plastic with something like yours

Again, great work.

This is one freakin' awesome install! You guys with the regular cab trucks are so lucky! There is no room in an extended cab at all, unless you remove the rear seat.

How much do you think everything cost, excluding carpet for the rest of the truck?

How much quieter is your truck inside with the Dynamat?
