Regular Cab Audio Install w/ Pictures

Well I'm nearing completion of my Audio Upgrades and thought I'd share my way of doing it since you don't see many Regular cab installs. I'm not done yet as I don't have my sub yet, it was back ordered for a week or two, but most of its done.

Specs:

Alpine iDA-X001
JL Audio ZR570-CSi
JL Audio 8W7
Rockford Fosgate 450.4 (Stereo Bridged)
Rockford Fosgate 325.1

Here is what I used for my ground, it was the bolt that held the 3rd seat belt assembly in place. I rarely use the 3rd seat and building a back wall around that thing would be hell, so I eliminated it all together.

For the amps I made a back wall out of MDF and covered it in matching carpet, which by the way I also had to add for the floor. My truck came with the plastic worktruck floor, so I ordered Black Molded carpet from www.stockinteriors.com and 3 yrds of extra for the rest of it. The carpet fit great, but wraping that material around the back wall & platform was a major PITA. I haven't started on the box yet....

and here is where I'm at right now, gonna wrap the box this week and then i'm just waiting on the sub. The box ended up being within .01 cu. ft. of JLs recomended spec for the 8W7.

One of the goals with all this was to see no wires, and with the Xovers mounted really low, and the design of the rockford amps I will acomplish that goal. The little platform I built also hides the wire slack, and Distrobution blocks, as well as the ground. It doubles as a nice flat sturdy place to put stuff when I need to...

Looks great! I have one question...

In your doors, are those aftermarket tweeters in the stock location? If so, how did you mount them and did you have to do any trimming?

Oh man, your giving me motivation big time by showing me this. I still havent put in my 4 channel amp yet because I am not sure where to put it but I think the idea you have looks awesome. How hard was it to build the back panel to mount the amps???

Looks AWESOME man!!! Most impressed!

Keeping that back panel off and replacing it was a GREAT idea....you have me seriously reconsidering what I have done with my install. With all the ish I came up with, why the heck didnt I think of that?

How much airspace did you manage out of that subbox?

Looks great, nice and clean, I love it. Keep it up

Edit...how do you have that back panel/amp board attached to the back wall?

You're a stud, I'd love for someone as skilled to touch my truck. I'm getting sick of the audiophile, just want it a little louder
