Ford customer service is outstanding!!

So I purchased an 06 F150 this past Saturday. The interior on this truck was perfect, it looked and even still smelled new except for it had a dime size fray on the back seat. So on Thursday I get home and there is a message from the dealer I purchased it from. The message said that they had ordered all new factory cloth for both the front seats and the back. They said it was all covered under warranty so there was no charge to me. So I just now dropped my truck off and they said it would take about 3-4 hours for them to rip off the old cloth coverings and install the new cloth. They even gave me an 06 Fx4 to drive while they are doing this.

How can you beat a deal like that!?!?!?

I just thought it was really cool they did this. I mean I had already bought the truck and they didn't owe me anything. They just did it because they wanted a happy customer. Now that is customer service!

That is cool, but we should clarify that it is not Ford customer service that is outstanding, it is that specific dealer.

My own personal dealings with my local Ford dealer AND Ford Canada have been less than stellar.

I agree. Huge KUDOS to that dealership.

The last 3 times I took mine in for warrenty work at Fenton Ford in Dumas, TX about all I got was the run around and eventually an 99 saturn and an 88 chevy to drive. They even refused to look at some of the things that were wrong. Worthless.

Hergert Ford in Perryton, TX however is Great. Never a complaint.

The seats seem to feel a little different, maybe a little more cumfy. I like the power mirrors and love the power sliding rear window. It's weird but I didn't notice much difference at all between the 4.6 and the 5.4 engines and I drove this truck 45 minutes back to work on both highway and city (mostly highway).

The Fx4 didn't offer anything "to me" that would want me to fork out the extra $$ for it.

Please don't flame me as these are just my opinions.

Now I would pay some extra money just to have that sliding back glass.

I have never really cared for the sliding rear glass, everytime my friend opens his, crap just starts flying through the rear window

I have also have had great service at my local dealership here in Billings, MT. I took my 05 in for some minor warranty work (parking brake indicator light) and they threw in a oil change for free.

Two of the three Ford dealers in my area are superb. They definitely go the extra mile.

The other dealer... well, he's small with huge over head and whines about everything. He won't negotiate on selling a new vehicle because you're taking food out of his kid's mouth. He won't fix anything under warranty for a vehicle he didn't sell because you're hogging up a stall for paying customers.

X2

The 4.6L is a dog in a 6000-7000 pound truck. Sad thing is that gas mileage between the two engines is about the same.
