Holy Smokes Batman! - Tires...

I was fooling around with some serious filing of papers and stuff... got my hands on some very nice Schwab 5000 filing cabinets... so I loading up my files... and I happened to be curiously looking at my truck stuff, and putting it all in order (all my maintainance papers, and receipts from wally world from buying oil and filters, etc) by date. So I came across my window sticker... I'm glancing at it. Then it pops out at me like, Chuck, you are STUPID!!!

Guess what it is?!

Yep... by my title.. they put the wrong tires on my truck!

I've got the standard equipment 235/75R/17 - 108s Hankooks BSW tires.

However I was supposed to get the 255/65R/17 OWL tires, because it shows I paid $325 extra!

So... you might be saying... what's he crazy, he ain't thinking he's gonna get a new set of tires, or better yet, a $325 refund... how do they know he didn't swap'em out?

Well, when I picked up the truck at the dealer, I took a slew of 7 megapixel pictures, and I was looking at them on my computer right now... and sure enough, I can perfectly make out the tire specs and everything right off the tires.

So what am I gonna do? I'm going to the dealer... oh, I mean, the stealership for my redemption. They can't say anything to me. I got legitmate dated proof beyond a shadow of doubt.

1 year... but it just rolled 11k... so it's still pretty much new. It's still under the 12k lemon law statue of NYS... basically making it new still.

I don't see why they'd hassle me. I am being 100% honest, and I've got legitimate proof.

I dunno what difference it would be if I waited 2 days or 2 years, if I got legitimate proof, there is no way around it. It's considered stealing from my pockets.

I would say it would be different if I didn't have the dated pictures right in the parking lot of the dealer, with the salesman standing right next to the truck. So who's fooling who.

I just had to make sure I was sane... so I checked the door jams... sure enough, Ford spec'ed it for 255/65R 17 tires.

In fact, I think they are supposed to be 'E' load rating... because thats how my '99 was with the work truck package.

Sorry for the crappy cell pix... but it's more proof.

So a word to the wise - Check the window sticker CAREFULLY before taking the truck... and I can't stress this enough - TAKE PICTURES in the dealer's lot with a camera with a date function and with other crucial things such as no plates or a temporary new car registration, etc!

Now I'm wondering if this had anything to do with my TPMS sensor failure... hmm... more beans added to the mix.

Well, I suppose this answers my balding tire question on one of my previous threads... I don't think those passenger tires like the xtra weight. haha

I think I want my money back... I think I'll get a much better quality tire... especially after reading the reviews on the Contitrac:
Surveyed Averages 56 62% 2.7 5.5 5.7 5.9 6.9 6.1 4.9 4.2 4.3 5.7 5.1 5.1

Hankook DynaPro A/T:
Surveyed Averages 33 77% 4.8 7.2 7.0 7.0 8.0 7.4 5.4 5.1 4.6 7.7 7.5 6.9

The Hankooks won, surprisingly.

Ya... good thing I had two people taking pictures... or I would've been SOL in plain English.

I was looking over all the paper work, and I don't see a blessed thing about my circumstance... so there's no way the dealer can say no.

It's like I went to buy a set of tires -or really any part- from the parts dept, payed the purchase in full, and I totally forgot about the parts. A year later I come around to an invoice stuck between something or another, and I read it, and it's that part I never got that paid X amount of dollars for. So, say I call the parts dept up, and they don't have the part, but they've got it on record that I payed them. So what are they going to do? Keep my cash? I don't think so. THAT IS MONETARY THEFT!

Again, no difference in my situation. I legitimately paid for a set of tires that I never got - and will never get if I don't say something.

Hey, ya never know.

What's it gonna waste? $3 in gas and like a few minutes of time?

Who knows, I might come out a shining star.

Be nice if I hung $325 off the dealer this morning.

Good luck to you. I hope they give it to you. However, if they do anything more than stare at you a bit funny, I'd be shocked. Customer service isn't what it used to be, that's for sure.

Geez. Tires? The stealership here put the WRONG RIMS on my truck. I pointed it out the instant it rolled out and all this stupid punk kid with bro tatoos all over himself could say to me was "uhh.. well we didn't have those and our rim supplier blah blah blah blah blah."

Still never fixed because that guy just denies it and makes up bull**** excuses, and now and there's no proof of me ordering the other ones. He ordered the wrong ones to start with. I was looking through a catalog when I was ordering them and pointed them out when I was sitting there at the desk in the accessories dept., so they called me out on it. No proof because that punk *** kid is a lying bitch.

Oh well, the other ones were really similar to the ones I actually got, I like these ones only a tiny bit less than the ones I originally picked.

I don't know how much if anything you will get, following the Statute of limitations it might just be too old of a case they might just say too bad so sad. But on the other hand they may not want to deal with you or risk losing a valued customer and just give you the cash or tires
