4X4 VS FX4..... Differences??

I just bought (2 weeks ago) a 2004 4X4 Lariat Crew Cab Red with gold accent around the bottom and I love the truck, and this site was the greatest I've found so far. I am just curious as to the differences in the two trucks, if any????

Mechanically- skid plates and off road tuned shocks, ESOF, standard LS diff.

Eye candy- grill, guage cluster, wheels, FX4 sticker, colors, seat upolstery.

The only things that are specific to the FX4 are the shocks, wheels, cluster and seat material, evrything else is optional on other models.

not true. the FX4 has different shocks than the normal 4x4. they are different part #'s

may not be Rancho's though. I know the FX4 shocks are firmer than the normal 4x4 shocks

all i wanted was the fx4 cluster... couldnt justify the extra thousands they wanted for the fx4's. does anyone know if the fx4s clothe upholstery suffers from staining like the xlt's?

The regular 4x4, overall, is a better vehicle than the FX4.

How do you figure? They are the same truck. Saying that is like saying an XL is better than a King Ranch. An FX4 is a trim level that bridges the gap between the XLT and the Lariat, thats all. The farther up the scale you go on trim levels, the better equipped the truck is.

The adhesive on the regular 4X4 sticker is far stickier than the adhesive on the FX4 sticker.
