They are bad about leaking, most people have had them replaced by Ford or have had to go back with a better gasket and seal it themselves

sounds like envy to me. try driving a FX4 on a bumpy road and then immediately switch out to a XLT on the same set of road. there is a very big difference. it may all be trim effect, but it's noticeable. the difference is even bigger from FX4/4x4 to a 4x2

almost 2 yrs and going strong on original gasket

but yeah, the 04/05 seems to have a big problem in that area

Is that why when i go through the car wash my back seat is wet??? I thought my window was leaking.....
