07 Battery Problems...

So why would they stick a 540CCA battery in a 07 f150 super cab 5.4L fx4 when a focus comes with 560 cca?

Anyway, my truck had been cranking slow for about a week, I figure no biggie, it's cold, it's going to crank slow. Finally yesterday morning...DEAD. I brought the battery to the dealer and they replaced it under warranty.

Now I tried to get them to upgrade me to a bigger battery, but they say that 540 CCA is what it's supposed to have. I just can't understand why my truck has a smaller battery than a focus. Ford says they have a 650cca that will fit, but I'd have to buy it.

All I know is that if this one goes bad too, they're upgrading me to a 650 for free.

Anyone else having problems on their 06/07/08 5.4L's?

I'm not having any problems turning the '07 over in the morning, but I'm also not very happy with the lower CCA batteries in my '05, '06 and '07 trucks. No issues with the '05 or '06 in the morning either.

My 1997 F-150 had a 750 amp from the factory, and it definitely started up with authority. Eight years later, the 750 amp was still going strong when I traded the truck in!

I too am having problems with my battery, 2006 with 24K on it. Would not start at all a couple of weeks ago but seems fine since. True, it gets pretty cold in MN, but a one year old battery should not leave you stranded. It sounds like this is pretty common though.

540CCA is too small. Mine was starting to crank slow as well. I brought it in before it died and after running some test they found that the battery was bad. I also was having trouble with my Edge starting when the truck was cranking slow. They replaced it under warrany and let me upgrade to a 850CCA for an extra $25. Well worth it. My truck has never turned over so fast than it does now with the new battery.
