Question Random Locks????

I have a 04 XLT 4x4 Screw with about 34k. Since it was new I occasionally notice the locks just randomly lock. I have the auto lock set so they automatically lock at about 5 mph. This is different truck is already at speed and the locks just lock. I don't know if I happen to be catching some random RF frequency that is activating the locks or some weird bug in the computer. It happens in different place. It doesn't happen very often maybe once a month. Any body else notice this??

My 06 does the same thing. It doesnt do it once a month, but I dont drive as often as most people. If I remember right, it occurs mostly after a stop. I guess the truck just wants you to be safe. I too have the autolock turned on.

Just to be safe, if I ever get out with the key in the truck, I roll down the window down enough to get my arm through and unlock. I've never had anything crazy happen, but just in case.

It could be a result of the Autolock repeat feature...

Autolock (if equipped)
The autolock feature is available on automatic transmission vehicles with
power locking. This feature will lock all the doors when:
• all the doors are closed,
• the ignition is in the 3 (ON) position,
• you shift into any gear putting the vehicle in motion, and
• the brake pedal is released and the vehicle attains a speed greater
than 5 mph (8 km/h).

The autolock feature repeats when:
• any door is opened then closed while the ignition is in the 3 (ON)
position, and
• the brake pedal is released and the vehicle attains a speed greater
than 5 mph (8 km/h)
.

Takes longer to get the owners manual out and on the right page than it takes to diable it. I did mine soon after I got it.
