Serious Edge Problem

Started up my truck today and the edge display was messed up. 3 of the four displays read "0" and the other display is fixed at "15.2". I don't know what to do and am scared if I disconnect it to reset it, I will mess up my truck's CPU. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

That happens to me sometimes. All I do is unplug the cord from underneath the dash and re-plug it back in. I do that with the truck running. You should get a message about your HEX key file, press enter and everything should be OK, at least that's how it works for me and I have no problems.
It wont mess up your computer to do that. Your computer is already programmed. All the Edge is digital gages after the programming is done.

That's some serious edge problem you have there.

You can unplug it and remove the monitor if you want to.

Was it freezing temperatures outside? I heard the cold (and extreme heat) will affect the display sometimes. I took mine off for the winter cause I don't want my truck to blow up.

Mine has been fine. Here in the Chicago area the temps have been 0-20f for the past week. The only problem I had in the summer was the pod kept popping up from the heat.

Mine has been fine in the cold and heat so far. This weekend is was -23 on saturday morning with a windchill of -37 and the display popped right up. But I have heard of others having problems with the displays in the cold.

Yeah..mine worked "so far" in the cold but I didn't want to test my luck so i just took it off....no big deal. I have had "minor" problems in +100 degree weather with the display taking a couple of minutes to pop up though....

I usually just turn off my truck and then turn it back on when that happens and it works fine. Nothing to worry about that is for sure.

I know this doesn't really apply to the Edge.. but I've got a ScanGauge II, and I've never had a problem with it in colder weather.

I'm thinking it might be a loose connection, or the Edge's electronic's just hate the cold.

so with the Edge programmer, you could set your "tune" then unplug and keep in garage? if it's not needed, could you also have one that would be shared from vehicle to vehicle (car club, multi F150 families, etc)?

No, it can only be used on other F150's if you set the F150 that was tuned back to stock.

But you can set the tune then take it out of the truck. As mentioned, once the tune is set, the Edge simply becomes a scan gauge and can be removed at any time without hurting anything.

I agree 100% with you.

I have had this problem before and all you gotta do is unplug it then hook it back on and with enter on the hex screen and your good to go, as everyone else said before me
