Makes sense. The Bakliner guys I talked to advised the heat would take care of it but since it was winter in Raleigh, NC I had to resort to the hair dryer.

Not a fan of the roll/flip tonneau but it doesn't look half bad.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy it! I've only had mine for 4 months now I think but so far so good. Other than the fact I have to lift it to close the tailgate I don't have a single complaint yet. I especially like that I can fold it against the cab and drive without concern. I hauled a big screen TV back there with the bakflip folded against the rear window with no vibrations or problems.

Enjoy it!

Justi,
I received my bakflip today, and installed it. I think it looks great. However, I have to push down on both sides to secure it, is this normal or did I do something wrong.

I experienced the same problem. First I unbolted the front and then climbed in the bed with the cover down. Looked at how much of the little plastic latch were catching and noticed they weren't even from one side to the other. Re-aligned it, bolted the front back down and presto. It locks now just by dropping it. Try that.

Is it possible to remove the cover once it is folded up? If so, how hard is it to do?

Justi - Great write up. Thanks a lot. I am seriously considering getting this one soon. Any issues with it not being water tight?

You just have to unscrew two large hand nuts on the left and right at the front and it comes right out. Simple to do.

Mines been on now for about 6/7 weeks and haven't seen any water.

I get a little bit of water after a high pressure wash but it's around the tailgate where I don't have a seal and I also have the tailgate step which has additional seams for water to leak in. So far I remain very impressed.

What are the panels made of and how much does the cover weigh?

The old style are plastic panels and the new style are aluminum panels.

The old style: http://www.gorsar.com/index.php?opti...d=31&Itemid=59

New Style: http://www.gorsar.com/index.php?opti...d=44&Itemid=74

I forget how much the old one weighs but the new one is less than 70lbs. I think the biggest sign of quality, at least from me, is that I bought a new one for my 2010 5.5' bed after being so happy with my last one on my 6.5' bed.

Thanks,
