I have had the 2.5" AS on mine for almost 40K miles and not a problem. I did however tear an axle boot recently, but that was from driving through fields of milo during my hinting trips. I just need to get it fixed soon. Anyone have to repair a torn boot yet?

last Ford CV boot I fixed was on an Escort. I'd suggest a weekend and lots of beer. Although the truck has x3 the amount of space to work. lets just say it was a PITA

but yeah, a leveling kit will have 0 effect on the longevity of the front end. the only time it comes into effect is when you are actually in 4x4...so it's really a moot point.

the abusers will make a stock truck wear out as quick as or sooner than one with a leveling kit. pay to play and all that jazz

I have a small tear in one of mine. I actually tore it when I was installing the leveling kit so I was able to seal it up before it got water and dirt inside. I just used some rubber based adhesive that stays flexible to patch the hole. It's been there for a few months without any problems yet. This however probably going to be temp. fix, I figure that sooner or later the glue will stop holding. I checked around at two dealers to see how much they would charge to replace the boot and it was not too far off from just replacing the whole axle shaft. There is a good amout of work to do to just replace the boot. I figure when the time comes I'm just going to buy a reman axle and call it good, I think Advance auto has them for about $100. The dealers wanted about $375 to change to axle and it doesn't look too difficult to do.

B4 my lift . Had AS2.5" on for about 30,000 miles with no issues . Installed a 6" lift. With out the AS, shortly after, bottom ball joints went out. Re- installed the AS on top of the 6", Shortly after that uppers went out. Pulled AS off. Now I hear a poping noise coming from the front . Bottom ball joint has a tear

My ? is ? Could this be due to overloading my truck and towing?
I do use this truck as a work truck. ODO is reading about 98,000 miles

I to have been thinking about putting a 2" back on W/ 1.5" aal
