Also all that display stuff your talking about is just tacky...a car show is for showing your CAR. Anytime someone has a load of crap on display in front of their car its because the car itself is lacking something. I mean take a look at your own picture...does any of the other cars down through there have stuff piled up in front of them??? I am not trying to be an *** but you asked for suggestions.
not at all, thanks for the honest input.
From what I've seen and talked to veteran show people from around here it has a lot to do with personal taste. Most of the things I'm talking about are small though. I agree that it can reach overkill really fast. Like that yellow bird in the background was full of little stuffed tweety birds. That, I thought was tacky looking but again it's personal taste. I'm sure most people like it.

There were several with stuff out front at that show. It might have just been the judges but none of those cars won any awards that day. Most of the winners did have displays out front or to the side. I won 2nd in all year model truck at that show and the winner had a bigger display and a gorgeous dodge warlock. Many would probably call my truck lacking. I can't afford to throw a fortune into a giant lift and what not. So instead I'm aiming at a theme. Anyway I digress. hehe

Damn sure going to look into that poster site. Most I've seen were really expensive. Those are much more affordable.

Question, how did you strap down your optima in your old 150?

When I first started showing cars I did the big display thing too....I had parked the car (well truck actually) on a carpet, had all my trophies out front (when I got to having to carry around 40 or so I stopped that) and so on. Then I realized that car shows are the most fun when you dont really care about winning as much as enjoying being with other "car people" and showing off your car to the public. That and my pockets got a little deeper and I was actually able to have the caliber of car I wanted to show. Now if I go to a show and they have the option of not being judged I will often just enter that class.
I just ordered one of the display posters for my SOM WS6...we are carrying it to several national shows this year and it will be nice to have some info on the car out in front of it.

As for the Optima. They make an adapter piece that snaps onto the bottom of the battery and you use your factory battery hold down to hold it down. Most places give it to you free with the purchase of a battery...but I think Autozone has them for less than $5 as well. I MAY still have mine...I have that battery in my Jeep now but I think that adapter is still on it (the Jeep ties the battery down on the top). If it is and you cant find one I will send it to you.

Totaly get that. Might just be that I'm a school teacher that makes it fun but kids love the truck. Adults generaly take it or leave it. Some want to ask questions about it. Other laugh at it. But the kids always love it.

Anyway, I digress again. Back to suggestions!

Thanks for all the input guys! Several of your ideas will be implemented asap for sure.

Had some things running through my head for quite a while and I just can't get them out. I really like f150silver05's set up. So I'm going to go with a black brush guard with two lights, and the black Carr rota lightbar with 4 more lights up top. Not everyone's cup of tea but it'll be something that I'll like to look at and will definitely be used a lot during the summer and fall.

Have a request for light suggestions in the off road forum. If you can help please go there and do so.
