2004 Trans question

I just got my trans fluid flushed with new clean mercon v fluid. My question is is i alright to add Lubegard too it to keep the temps down. I don't tow alot, but just want to keep the trans in tip op shape. I would use the lubegard in the RED bottle.

Have you investigated, Lucas products? As a user of many of Lucas' products im a fan. When time to do the tranny on mine i will be backing up my flush job w/ Lucas Racing Products :

Designed to withstand high temperatures and pressure. Excellent for high performance transmissions. Greatly extends transmission life and fluid life in truck and passenger car use. A real money-saver.

This is no normal ATF formulation. It has been developed to give the smooth, precise shifts needed by ET racers and yet extends a degree of protection not found in any other ATF. This product will stop wear and tear like nothing you've ever tried.

Key Benefits

In my other truck, '97 Explorer/Mountaineer, 5.0L V8, I am using Lucas Oil ATF for the Transmission & Transfer Case, 75W90 in the Front Differential, and 75W140 in the Rear Differential.

If you've got the factory towing package, you've already got a pretty overkill cooler in place so I'd leave the snake oil additives on the store shelf. Just don't beat up on the trans while towing (like if it's hunting for gears between 3rd and 4th, lock out overdrive) and change the fluid regularly, and you'll be alright.
