I have a 04 fx4 with 2.5" AS. Just wandering if the Bilstein 5100's will work on my truck? In their ad it says the 5100's are for lifted trucks.
Im kinda new to mods and don't wanna buy anything if its the wrong part. Thanks Josh

Yes they will work!
It is a little missleading but if you read what they say about the lifted trucks. It says You can also use it on 6-inch lifts where the lift-kit manufacturer provides a spacer for the stock units, and where the lift kit product uses the stock strut unit.
Bilstein Preload Leveling unit. This part allows 0 to 2-inches of suspension lift. This is done by relocating the spring perch on the unit. You can also use it on 6-inch lifts where the lift-kit manufacturer provides a spacer for the stock units, and where the lift kit product uses the stock strut unit.

I see they carry the yellow bilsteins but I don't see the other ones. (Bilstein 5100's)

With autosprings you can use any stock shock, you do not need shocks for a "lifted" truck. Refer to what Irish FX4 said about their meaning of using them on a lifted truck.
My advise is, if you need new shocks, sell your autospring spacers and buy the Bilstein 5100's. Set them for +2", get an alignment and you will be good to go.

I am about to order some Bilstiens 5100's front leveling shocks but was wondering two things.
Does anyone know if F150online members get a discount for them being a site sponsor?
Also do you have to have a spring compressor to install these, and how hard is it to install these shocks?

Now i no a spring is a spring and its designed to hold a certain load. So if it compressed or not its still holds the same weight. But i think it would make a difference in feel imo.
Ok just so i understand right, i can just put them on with my 2.5 AS? Or do i have to take them off? I would rather just put the shocks on with out removin the AS's. Thanks guys

If you increase the entire assembly by using a longer threaded end on the shaft of the shock that corresponds in length to the relocation of the spring perch, the spring compression would be the same as factory, yet overall length would increase.
I always like to have as few parts as possible to get the job done. If you can lift the front 2" with the shock body and have the same ride as stock, why would you want to have a spacer on top of it anyway?
I understand using AS because they are easy to install and you do not need to disassemble and re-assemble the strut. If you have to do that anyway why not use what the new shock is designed to do and remove an unnecessary part?
If my understanding of how the 5100's work is incorrect hopefully someone who has installed them on the +1" or +2" setting will confirm or deny my understanding.
