im looking to put one up front. Does anyone have this setup? Its open like the stock differential when disengaged. Thoughts or concerns?

I've used one in a solid steer axle, and loved it. Works flawlessly. If you do it, I'd love to know how it works in your truck, I'd like to get it done too.

I really think a locker would be too much for a lifted IFS front end. Your really going to end up destroying parts quickly. I would suggest looking into a limited slip front, that way your CV's might last longer than your oil

Depends on the kind of off roading you do... A front limited slip like a True Trac might be a better choice.

You really think so? I dont want a LS up there because ive heard it causes steering issues in inclement weather. I was gonna throw one up front with another maghytec to add some strength to the axle. Hummer h2s come with them stock front and back and im pretty sure those have IFS. I was gonna do an elocker because it runs as an open differential (like the stock one already installed on 4x4's) when disengaged. I would only lock it up when im off road and need it.

An auto locker would eat me my axles alive and I dont even think they make em for 8.8's

Chime in those who have any other than an open diff up front!!

I put 4.88's in the truck

Ive still got my stock LSD in the rear. I had some issues with it, but changed the oil and it works great, like new if not better.

What size lift is on your truck wolf? Ive got 1.5" of cranked coilovers so my CV angles arent stock, but not like a 2.5" AS.

You havent had any problems with the ECTED eating your axles??

I would think the ECTED is only a limited slip when u have the truck in four wheel drive and the front is receiving power and the ECTED is not engaged. however i could be wrong. Of course when the ECTED is engaged then it is locked. Also, most places the Auburn ECTED is cheaper than the Eaton E-Locker, and both have good reviews.

If your not too throttle happy it might last, its just alot of stress on a CV, especially one thats turned. And the H2 has a rear locker, the front is open but uses a traction control system to help limit wheel spin
