my roush tips are full of tar and crap...how do you guys clean em...

ive tried everything...and its still full of stuff...looks like tar but it wont come off....ive used.....never dull, soap and water, gas, alcohol, dawn, scrubbing bubbles, laquer thinner, wd40, carb cleaner, and a few other things and i still can't get it off...it actually almost looks like the tips are loosing the chrome on the edges where the carbon is....any help would be great since they look like a$$ right now..thanks

anytime ive had tar on the truck, like rocker panels on the door, etc....not real sure on chrome though. Ive always used keroscene to get it off, and it comes right off. then give it a really good wash. Thats how I get it off, but then again i dont really wash my truck all that often either...

I use never dull. You just have to be willing to spend an hour or two on them. The tar takes some rubbing to come off.

Scotchbrite will scratch the HELL out of the finish on the stainles steel polished Roush tips. I do not recommend that method.

I still won't use that stuff on polished chrome tips, even if it's scratch resistant. It's a scouring pad.

id try the keroscene on an incospicuous area to see what it does w/ the chrome, and how it does when they get hott after running around. The keroscene will take it right off, im fairly sure of that, just not so sure w/ the chrome.
