Gas Saver

Do any of you guys have any tips about saving gas? I have an 04 Screw Fx4 4wd and last I calculated I got 12.75 mpg. Not so good, but I am mostly a city driver. I don't want to imagine what it's going to be when I put the 35's on there. I didn't buy the truck to get 50mpg but are there any tricks to get better gas mileage that's not too expensive? Thanks

clean air filters and full tires are the most overlooked way to save fuel

buy a beater for your daily driver and drive the truck when you're with your friends or just cruisin.

I put on a Volant air intake, dual exhaust, and an Xcal3 tuner (waiting for custom tunes) , a tonneau cover, and I was getting 15.8 mpg on the highway. I now get 16.8...woohoo!

What do you mean "full tires."

I'm guessing he means Tire pressure! Make sure there inflated properly.

Raise your right foot.

It is relatively easy to do your best to keep rpms below 2000, and the gas savings you will see with consistent use of this practice will amaze you.

Another benefit is that on the rare occasion when you do get on the gas, you'll be amazed at how you'd forgotten how much power there is

bingo.

note I said "full" meaning to spec. Overinflating can lead to irregular tread wear.

For city driving gears will help you the most.

Keep stock tires and rims. Free and better mileage than 35's. As mentioned gears will help your town mileage, but you wont recoup $12-1500 in a realistic timeline.

Efans and 4.10s

I havent done gears yet but ive heard they are big gains. I picked up 1mpg in both city and highway after i did my efans.

Believe it or not i actually gained about .5 mpg city and highway after i lowered my truck. Lowering the wind resistance...
