Brake Question

You can try using dust sheilds to keep them clean. I've had them for three years now on various vehicles and they work just fine. No brake dust gets on the outside of the wheels and clean up is minimal. Kleen Wheels is the most common brand and they do make them for the OEM 20's, the part # is 3120. They can be had for about 40 bucks a pair online.

Dust shields are the worst thing you could put on. They keep heat in and with all that dust having nowhere to go it could affect your calipers. I have had multiple mechanics and dealerships from varies car models all tell me that. I wash my truck weekly and never notice that much build up.

I bought these brake pads from this person on ebay.

Quick hassle free service from him. And the price to buy from him was actually a little less than buying them directly from Porterfield when you include their shipping charges. I bought both my front and rear pads from him and in fact, the pads come directly from Porterfield, so he must get some sort of discount and purchase through them and ship directly to the buyer.
The dust takes longer to build up, but it's not eliminated. However, my main reason for purchasing these was that they do not make any noise. My Ford pads squealed like a pig.

EBC Green 7000 series pads are by far, hands down, the cleanest pads I have ever seen in my life. My absolute favorite. Stopping power and feel is right on par with stock, so you're not giving up anything.

I just rolled over 12K and I'm having the same issues with brake dust...looks like crap on my black wheels...it's relentless.
Right now I'm starting to get a slight feeling in the brake pedal like there is gravel underneath it...not a warped rotor feeling (God knows I know what that feels like after having Chrysler products as my last 5 vehicles...Dakota, 300M, Dakota, Ram, Cherokee)...the best way I know to describe it is "gravel under the pedal" during city driving and redlight stops. It's just a slight feeling, nothing major, and nothing that makes me feel like braking is compromised...just doesn't feel quite right. I just wonder if it's excessive brake dust deposits?
I, too, am thinking about ceramic pads. I have a company deal on "PowerStop" brand ceramic pads, etc...but I don't know much about them. Was thinking ceramic pads and slotted rotors.
I'm also not a fan of the Kleen Wheels idea, but have no personal experience to back it up.
