Cruise Control

I lost my cruise control a few months back on my 2004 Lariat. Didn't get around to checking things out, but this past weekend it worked again?? Anyone experienced this??

Never got a notice, my model must not be on the recall list.

Anyone know if it the 2004 should have been?

You don't really have to... just go here and type your VIN in.

YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS! If the recall has not been done the truck will catch on fire due to the cruise control wiring. I don't want to see your house catch on fire if you leave it parked in an attached garage.

Thanks, I'll check it out...

The truck does not fit in my garage... Good news is that if I leave it outside and it burns, I can get a 2009, they should be out late next summer......

Thanks. I went to the site "There are currently no recalls on this VIN."

I guess I have other issues going on...maybe it is a bad switch or something...

Just because the VIN doesn't match doesn't mean you don't qualify. I had that happen on my Explorer and they replaced the hood latch under the recall because the dealer inspected the item to ensure it was covered.

The 2004 Heritage was included in the recall but the new body style was not.

The new model F150, 04 up, were not included in the cruise recall. They have a different setup than the previous version.

I have been having the same issue, intermittent cruise control in a 2004 Lariat. Sometimes it works, sometimes it just stops working while going down the freeway.

I did some experimenting and I can make the cruise control kick out if I push up two window switches at the same time. So it is something that is effected by current. Could this be caused by a bad relay?
